In the past week and a half, I've noticed Reddit behaviors starting to try and poison all of the places that people are taking refuge in to get away from the toxicity, myself included. They've started to DDoS Lemmy for a while, which is a Reddit thing to do and what they're notorious of doing whenever they feel they don't like...
Blocking entire instances still seems to be bugged, in my experience. I've blocked a handful of German-language instances because I speak 0 German, but still see posts from those instances every now and then.
Seems unlikely IMO. Any such device would necessarily run some variant of iOS, which would mean it could only run the comparatively narrow selection of games from the App Store. Not many such games are really "asking" to be played on a Deck-esque form factor.
I wasn't even sorry to let Ashley die. She was condescending, hostile, and antagonistic for no real reason. And she's supposed to be a love interest? If you're playing anything but a full renegade, it's hard to imagine she'd even like Shepard.
Kaidan's characterisation fits better regardless of your Shepard's alignment, he's a more useful squadmate in general (especially in ME3), and he's better voice acted.
I talk a lot about how “empathy” in commercial UX is mostly a posture because in reality capitalism doesn’t care, but it’s important to consider the additional problem of people in charge who are too shallow to be capable of understanding “why” some people prefer, or need, to do things differently than they do....
Dark mode makes me irrationally angry. Doesn't matter what app or service it is, I just despise it. I can't even really explain why. It just looks so bad.
"Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives. I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment — because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived." ~ Jean-Luc Picard, Star Trek: Generations
Captain Picard has countless quotable lines over the course of the franchise, of course, but this one sticks out for me personally. Especially the last line. I've struggled over the last few years with the fact that having kids simply isn't in the cards for me, and Picard's struggle with the idea of his legacy hit home for me on a recent run through of the TNG era and into Picard.
As a cishet white guy, I know that such rhetoric is not aimed at me personally but rather the centuries-old cycle of privilege and oppression that I continue to benefit from today despite my personal beliefs and ideals.
Despite being right handed, it feels more comfortable to place my phone in my left front pocket. Maybe because having a wallet in my right pocket predates using mobile phones. What feels most natural for you?
Dark mode just looks bad aesthetically, IMO. Maybe it's something to do with my ADD, but I can't focus for long on apps or pages using dark mode. They're boring to look at.
Maybe you see a plant you have to collect in game or a rock wall that looks different. What items have you caught out of the corner of your eye that you realized was just your brain so focused on looking for things in a game that you saw it IRL and made you double take?
When I first started modding Skyrim back in 2012, I spent a solid week solely on water mods looking for something I liked. One day near the end of the week I was walking to work, and I had to cross a bridge. I looked out over the water and had a momentary thought about checking what water mod "they" were using.
