Gog is doing much better than in 2022. They are making 1.2M dollars in profit. Which is pretty good for such a platform personally. I really like the ideals of GOG, but haven't really used the platform a whole lot....
This, I've always loved GOG but ever since I've switched to primarily gaming on my steam deck, it's been more of a pain than it's really worth to use GOG
Honestly, I'd say I actually enjoyed cyberpunk more because of the public backlash, because I had such low expectations that when I borrowed it off a mate - I was blown away by how fantastic it actually was
I was unironically a massive fan of the PSTV, it was literally just a box with the internals of a Vita that you plugged into your TV. It was absolutely fantastic to be able to carry around a tiny console to hotels to get a proper gaming experience
Modded PSPs were the best way of playing retro games on the go for the longest time, I'd say it's only very recently that portable android consoles have even come close
Super Mario RPG is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 17, 2023! Looks like a full remake in 3d with an updated soundtrack. Though the original still ages well and looks great when played on modern emulation, I'm excited to see this as a full remake!
I asked on the general gaming mag, but I'll ask here too - would you recommend the Flip? Is it easy to carry around in your pocket and does it have better performance when it comes to PS2 and Gamecube games compared to the 2+?
Has anyone tried the Retroid Pocket Flip? I already had the 2+ but I couldn't find an easy way to carry it around so I'm thinking the Flip might be ideal
I recently played an amazing DOS game where you have your country and you can declare war or peace with other ones, and i really enjoyed it. Growing up one of my favorite DOS games was Gobliiins 3, such cool memories!
Stumbled upon someone who seemed completely opposed to the idea of federation and the fediverse. Like, if you are opposed to federation then why are you on here? They seemed to be pretty confused about what the fediverse is all about and likely joined due to misleading advertisements.
@Otome@kbin.social there's definitely been a disconnect between people who just want a reddit alternative and the intended audience of the fediverse i.e. people who want a decentralised internet. I'd wager that a lot of people who left reddit would have happily gone to another social media giant if it had the features they wanted.
Jesus-efffing-Christ so adding on top of their pathetic interface to change address and/or add a phone to get a SALES call, I ended up using the live chat, who requested to call me on the phone, who called me to just act as gatekeeper of "why do you need a paid account..." before passing me over to a cloud engineer (not sure why I need that just to change from free to paid) like...da...fuck, I'm putting money on your pocket, does it matter why? It's none of your business, just make it a paid account.
What a waste of my time.
EDIT: To make matters worse, the nosy sales agent, just sends me back to the live-chat to talk with the cloud engineer but instead of passing me with them, he just closes the chat. I've been here 20-minutes you idiot. Now I need to start from scratch again.
There's been a lot of discussion about how the russian population looks at the war. Surely they oppose it, right? Nobody with an IQ over room temperature would ever want war? Wrong. The russians want war. Why? Because they have been told for years that the evil west is trying to destroy them. Of course they believe it. Propaganda can be extremely effective. The russians would support the war even if they had a choice. The 'will of the public' isn't supressed. It's controlled.
@realsimon people forget that the majority of the US population (and to some degree the populations of most western nations) supported the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq with the same zeal
This is why soulless corpos can never compete with talented people who are more than happy to work on amazing things for free just for the sheer satisfaction of achieving something actually useful, instead of lining shareholder pockets while pretending to look busy
I can’t overstate how cool it is to have my own SteamOS “console”, under my TV. Might not feel like it’s a game changer, but being able to play my Steam games on Linux, on my TV, at high resolutions and details, with a controller friendly interface, it’s just… magical.
Haven’t really touched the PS5 since 😅
Plus, I can resume my games on the Steam Deck when I’m outside, or in bed. It feels like a complete ecosystem, and I love it. Now I want a Steam Controller 2, please.
Technically neither is "correct" (as if a pronunciation by native speakers could be in any way wrong) as it's originally a Scots word, and in Scots it's pronounced [skɔn] so that it rhymes with "lawn"
