LostXOR

@LostXOR@kbin.social

kbin's not looking great currently so I've shifted to fedia.io: https://fedia.io/u/LostXOR

LostXOR,

"them/their hills" sounds like "them there hills", which is a different (somewhat improper) way to say "those hills".

LostXOR,

I'm currently sitting in the leftmost seat of a bus, so I suppose I'll get injured pretty badly from colliding with the road at high speed, and possibly be run over by a car.

LostXOR,

What caught me most off guard was him saying that OAuth somehow grants sites access to your camera. That's a permission controlled by the browser and not at all related to OAuth.

LostXOR,

0.333... represents 0.3 repeating, which has an infinite number of 3s and is exactly equal to 1/3.

LostXOR,

Yeah I suppose it's more than a "minor problem". Still feels weird making such a small PR lol.

LostXOR,

There's probably some distribution of mass that would result in uniform gravity across the whole disk. I'm guessing there would need to be more mass near the edge to counteract the diagonal pull of the mass near the center on the area near the edge.

LostXOR,

A few times a day it rolls 3 dice (that's the rattling sound you hear) and if they all come up six an update is needed.

LostXOR,

x++; // Set x to the incrementation of the value of x
Much better.

LostXOR,

IIRC the amount of humans who have ever lived is estimated at around 100 billion, much more than the current population of 8 billion.

LostXOR,

results = [result for result in results if result != None]

LostXOR,

You're right, though IIRC there's no functional difference when comparing to None (other than speed).

LostXOR,

If you haven't used Windows in that long you might as well just get rid of it.

LostXOR,

Aren't BIOS updates usually done by putting the update file on a flash drive and installing it from the BIOS? I've never heard of updating BIOS from Windows with an executable.

LostXOR,

Not happening for me currently, but that definitely sounds like something Google would do. Good thing Firefox lets you easily change your user agent.

LostXOR,

Nah I'd rather just guess what device to dd to.

LostXOR,

I used to have a dual boot but realized I hadn't used my Windows installation in months and nuked it.

LostXOR,

From the article it seems like she wants to do a normal delivery, but a C-section might be necessary if there are complications.

LostXOR,

Yeah, nobody cares about the color of a chat bubble, but iMessage's functionality (like replies, reactions, and large uploads) is very useful.

LostXOR,

I don't know if I'd call that "hacking", it's just making a third-party iMessage client for Android devices.

LostXOR,

Can you hear your laptop's fan speed up when it's overheating? Linux on my old laptop couldn't control the fan speed so it was always overheating. When I figured out how to manually set it to maximum, it overheated much less.

LostXOR,

Seems like an iron farm would be a better option, everything you need to build it should be easy to come by.

LostXOR,

It'll always be a planet in our hearts.
