Unity + Nintendo Switch and tears from the developer 😭
The process of creating a nintendo build takes more than 5 minutes, after launching it it crashes and gives a dump. But there is no point in reading it.
Code again, build again and crash again. And so on in a circle
Each iteration takes a lot of time if you don't understand what the problem is.
@maxim Yep that's been my experience too LOL. I've had some luck with crash dumps, but it's at best a vague indication of what might be wrong. Just throw 10 trillion logs at the problem until you isolate it xD
@maxim
Hmmm that does sound frustrating. I think your best bet will be to pop a question in the developer forums on the Nintendo portal. That way you can discuss specific NDAd stuff that we can’t discuss here, plus everyone there is super helpful in my experience.
finished this semester only one year left from the HND, does anyone got any recommendations of game dev related books? I want to learn more this summer about graphics and shaders in general #gamedev
@marcos Yeah not too sure what level you’re looking for. But I personally really enjoyed “Real Time Rendering” (4th edition), and “Game Engine Architecture” (3rd edition I think?). They’re both fun reads that cover a ton of ground!
@krajzeg I still see a lot of people on twitch streaming, but I've seen some on youtube lately too. My main problem with YouTube is that I just find it personally hard to find channels that I'm not specifically looking for. With Twitch it's easy enough to just go to the programming category and have a look around for something interesting. Not that twitch doesn't have it's own huge issues atm though.
