I do things with openSUSE. Not that I'm particularly good at any of them =P

Holy shit snacks, .

@thelinuxcast This happens a few times a year, when some major dependency down in the guts of the stack gets updated. And everything that links to it gets rebuilt up the stack.

Well. Seems I have to reinstall . I tried restoring as many of my custom theme settings as I could remember before retrying to upgrade to . It didn't help. Colors being screwed I get, but why are so many things are straight up missing. Volume widget? BT widget? Whole sections in the Plasma Settings are just gone. ???

Plasma 6. Dark theme broken, widgets and option sections in the Plasma settings are missing.

@macberg Are they still missing, if you create a new user, and login there?

@macberg Well that's certainly less than optimal.

Blog about some various Linux stuff (sfalken.tech)

Just wanted to drop there here, in case anybody finds it useful. I started doing some blogging, mostly with the intention of archiving how in the hell I've done things on Linux, in the past, so I know where to find them the next time I need to do them. There will probably be other stuff there, with time, some of it not linux...

It feels pretty good, as well as looks pretty good. YaST and the YaST installer have been basically in maintenance mode for a long time, without any active development for a number of years now, and it's certainly time to move on.

Well, I can say, with all certainty, that while I appreciate the submissions, and the community making themselves heard, that isn't the new Kalpa logo.

Well, there's already a discussion on the mailing lists, and while I can't speak for the project, (nor am I an attorney, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night), the "Main" openSUSE Project logo is a registered trademark of SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH, so it's highly unlikely that it's going to change.

Anyone know if there has been anything from the devs about the mirrors still being down?

SFaulken,

@thelinuxcast

@weiln

Working fine from here (West Coast US) as of 1019 PDT 24-Nov, but status.opensuse.org is still reporting major issues with the mirrors. (although it looks like that report was last updated on the 14th.)
