Best current hardware solution for selfhosting?
I use my desktop PC for Jellyfin and torrenting, but I’m looking for something that I can keep on 24/7 that draws less power and run other self-hosted services on Linux. I would like to have at least 2x 14 TB 3.5" hard drives in or attached to it with the possibility of expanding in the future....

Meta Just Proved People Hate Chronological Feeds (www.wired.com)
Meta conducted an experiment where thousands of users were shown chronological feeds on Facebook and Instagram for three months. Users of the chronological feeds engaged less with the platforms and were more likely to use competitors like YouTube and TikTok. Anyone else gradually stopped drinking alcohol?
I stopped drinking alcohol some years ago. Before that I hardly consumed any alcohol at all for many years, but in my college years and maybe some years after that, I drank socially like “everybody else”. I just got a location near me and I’m curious about your thoughts. I currently get the bean burrito and fiesta veggie burrito as they’re cheap and vegetarian. What items do you like making or hate making? Any recommendations?

Masayoshi Takanaka - The Rainbow Goblins (Live at Budokan, 1981) (www.youtube.com)
A lot of people talk about wanting to experience things for the first time again, but I find that Rainbow Goblins is one of those experiences that feels every bit as magical no matter how many times I've heard it.
My favorite RSS reader: Brief for Firefox (addons.mozilla.org)
Back in the day I used Firefox's built-in Live Bookmarks for all my RSS; I still miss it, but Brief is objectively better. People always seem surprised when I tell them that RSS readers can be embedded in the browser and not just dedicated websites/apps....

Why we need to move on from kbin.social
I think most of us who moved here from Reddit are enjoying our time here on kbin.social. We've left a lot of the riff-raff behind us and made new friends with intelligent, thoughtful members of kbin, Lemmy, Mastodon, etc.....

After two weeks I visited reddit again. Holy shit the misogyny and lack of critical thinking in the comments is something else....
My best friend is transphobic
I just found out my best friend of over a decade is transphobic. I don't really have more to say. I'm just devastated and feeling really alone.
