Some stuff I decided to put on codeberg.

Also, high five if you recognize the fucking hell hole that is that background landscape.

So, what’s the general consensus on Lemmy? Is it a toxic project with questionable roots, or just one with some really bad PR? The app is not especially impressive to me, thus far, but I’m told it’s more advanced than Kbin, and I may not be configured properly.

@shoq I tried joining lemmy.ml last year, they never answered the sign-up request :(

Kbin is basically still in early beta, so a some features are still unstable and wonky, but the concept is really nice. I think you posted this on your mastodon feed? I'm answering it in the microblog section of kbin. The author (Ernest) said he has plans to make it federate with the entirety of the fediverse, so I guess that is worth a close watch.

edit: apparently this doesn't work yet, checking your profile on your instance shows me nothing about this interaction lol.

edit2: apparently it does! lmao just takes ~30min to sync, but it does! wtf

YSK that it is not a proper way to wash your fruits and veggies with soap

Why YSK this is that some of the soap absorbs into the fruit, especially berries, and let's say you are washing your cherries with dish soap, and you eat them. That story ends with a long bathroom trip as soap makes you a little queasy. ETA: Nobody has heard about this?! I see it in the southeast where I live.

Yup, here in Brazil it is practically common place.

Even the government encourages it.

With bleach.

edit: I do it too, you just mix 1 bottle cap of pure bleach with 1 liter of water and let the produce sit for ~ 15min, then rinse the shit out of that mf with just water.

I use KeepassXC from the distro repos and syncthing so I have that shit synced around the whole house.

edit: on android I use KeepassDX

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead isn't really indie, it is straight up Open Source and a freaking good roguelike. The DDA variant focus heavily on the realism aspect of survival, but there are forks that try to gamefy it more.

There is also Rain World, which I am addicted for 3+ months now. It is also on sale, but before you buy it, know that you are going to die A LOT, but it really isn't a big issue; it's actually funny most times lol. Great lore too.

And one that I've rooted for a long time and I think flopped hard in its release is Below, but I very much still love it.

Also, one that I played for a bit last week and the soundtrack slaps hard is APE OUT.

How did I forget about Noita? This one is a masterpiece. Crafting a wand just to fucking obliterate yourself out of existence .3 seconds later is just chef's kiss. Also hämis.

You mean falling to death? There is a lot of danger zones in Industrial Complex, and I'm thinking you are probably stuck because of movement mechanics. See if these do you any good:

slugcat jumping horizontally with extended reach and climbing up the ledge

slugcat jumping horizontally and throwing rocks to extend its reach even further

They are from this movement guide, really useful stuff.

Cities in Dust by Siouxsie and the Banshees

Plus a close second, Around the World by Daft Punk :)

Pssst... any ideas for a domain name for the new instance?

Hi there! I've been trying to improve the situation for the past few hours. I managed to disable CF Protection, and as you can see, I'm gradually allowing traffic from the fediverse. There may still be delays in deliveries and posts for some time. If anything is particularly troublesome, please let me know through the contact...

for .br and .pt, maybe even .es, could be cabana (which means hut, cabin, cottage)

Rain World. Game is just a masterpiece.

Not everyone's cup of tea, though. I'd say people who enjoy struggling to progress and don't mind dying might enjoy the game. It really doesn't hold your hand.

Doing Hunter's campaign right now, I think I might upload some of the footage bc the ecosystem is chaotic as fuck and I haven't seen any Rain World content around lemmy.

This was circa 2003 when I was a 5 or 6 yo gremlin.

I was jumping on my aunt's couch like a maniac, slipped and hit my forehead on a glass table's corner; full-speed.

The table shattered, my cranium shattered and the only thing I remember is that, on the way to the hospital, the city was cold as hell.

And now I look like a penis :)

libgen, anna's archive, scihub if I'm feeling academicky. So I guess renting eh?

used to have a kindle pw2 but nowadays I just read stuff through koreader or mupdf on a smartphone

What game is improved the most by mods?

I know most of the Bethesda RPGs have massive mod support, and there's games like Minecraft that have more mods than anyone can imagine. I would consider those games pretty playable in their vanilla states. Would you say there are any games that were "saved" by modding? Or that are still kept alive by thriving modding...
