"Undocumented"? "health insurance"?

"Undocumented health insurance"!?

"as long as they met eligibility requirements, including income limits and California residency in 2014."
But not documented!?

Are you quite sure you're all right over there?

In Buddhism, yes.

For Hindus, well, it's complicated.

For other people who happen to believe in reincarnation?
That would be anybodys guess, I guess.

Loanwords in language are interesting. The word Revenge リベンジ in Japanese is used both in usual way as well as to mean 'revenge match', like a second chance at something that a person has failed at. It's sometimes used stylistically like that in English, but the Japanese use it as though it's the literal meaning.

Spoilers for Oshi no Ko:

They use the first meaning a lot since the end of the prologue and the latest story arc focus on the second. The characters are getting a second try at telling Ai's story.

But it's not quite "part-time" work is it?

It's work that that young people in school do, and it's encouraged because it is socializing.

So I wonder if it's connected to work by institutionalized people?

As in the German prisoners of war in WWI Japan?

Note that I have no evidence of any kind, I'm only speculating here!

So i'm on a rolling distribution because of some things I want to use. (Blender, Krita)

But I'm not sure that an LTS system wouldn't be a good idea if my 'only' serious use was for instance writing.

My kids watched a History Matters video talking about the Schleswig-Holstein Question and now I have to figure out what the hell that was all about.

It doesn’t help that apparently at the time it was apparently used as an example of an insanely complex problem.

pragmakist,

@lorddimwit

Yeah, It was utterly unsolvable.

The horrible, abhorent idea that lets modern society in the area sort of function nevertheless is that you can be like 60% Danish, and at the same time 70% German or whatever. (And also Friesian on the side.)
And it's fine.
(That is people in the 21st century pretends like that's Ok, and not obviously morally deficient.)

I'm glossing over a few details, but it turns out that if you just ignore the insane complexity the problem falls more or less apart.

We tried to simulate 1000 viewers on a video, and then on a livestream. (Note that 99% of twitch livestreams are under 1000 simultaneous views.)

We optimized accordingly... And here are the results: it works!

With a ~20$ server, PeerTube can now support such usecases.

The purpose of copyright in the USA, and as far as I know in Brittain, yes.

But please remember that in much of the rest of the world copyright is a reaction to people, creators, getting in trouble over third party usage of their creations.

Leading to the idea that a creator should have the power to stop people from using their works for whatever the creator deems objectionable.

pragmakist,

In Denmark the case surrounding "Nøddebo præstegård" caused copyright to be enacted.

I've noticed the theme come up in other countries, amongst these France, but I'll grant that I may have overestimated its importance by overfitting to prior knowledge.

What can we do about major sites blocking VPN providers?

I use ProtonVPN for everything, and I’ve started noticing more and more sites simply blocking me if I try to connect to them through ProtonVPN. That sounds like a really good idea if the site thinks the reason they're a lot of different lock-on attemps from that one ip is because its a hacker with a list of stolen credentials.

Basically just tell them their list is fake and "go away and stop bothering our customers, please."

State law is one thing, but to me it seems obvous that "his or her right to be secure in their papers" has been broken.

Edit: Unfortunately the founders formulated that as a limit on government, again not actually succeding in securing any rights.

The usual solution outside the US is to not mention the state at all.

All you need is a right to privacy, not a list of those who are not allowed to peek
