I just got here, how do I use this siet

@gabboman

@ultrasquid

Interestingly, I actually received this notification on my Kbin account of the same name (which I am using right now) despite the two not being connected in any way other than the username. I assume this is a bug?

Constantine is never born. That would prevent the Holy Roman Empire and the hundreds of years of regression that it caused.

ultrasquid,

Yes, but it isn't on f-droid or google play.

I'm not sure if its open source, so technically not FOSS, but Connect is by far my favorite UI and UX wise.

Can we just take the Florida out of Florida

ultrasquid,

I'd use it, but it doesn't have kbin support

I won't get a brain chip unless there's laws passed banning using them for advertising or for data collection, but knowing our current government those two things will end up being mandatory

ultrasquid,

Platforms should start considering "woke" a slur, cause that's pretty much how it's used.

Tunic x Amphibia. I haven't finished Tunic yet but from what I've seen, it fits surprisingly well

From what I've heard he gets attacked by harpies if he tries to stop.

What's your opinion on Opera browser?

I've been using Opera for a few years now and I've been enjoying its features, UI and everything. However, I (surprisingly to me) haven't noticed many people mentioning it. Also, when I was on Reddit and mentioned that I use it I got downvoted which left me somewhat confused haha....

I use it on mobile for the fast action button (basically fancy gesture controls). I know its ownership is pretty sketchy, and I'd prefer to be using Firefox or some other browser, but I haven't found any other browser with similar gesture controls.

Ultrakill. Sometimes guys will talk to you, but its rare (only before bossfights), can mostly be ignored, and can be skipped after listening to it the first time.

ultrasquid,

I use Opera GX because of their unique gesture navigation. If Firefox or a fork of it had something similar, I'd probably switch over though.

ultrasquid,

I'm aware they're a bit sketchy but as I said, I like their gesture controls.

There's a reason I mostly play singleplayer games.

Steam has some competition, its just that said competition never took off because Steam is so much better.

Most are scams, but there are reputable ones, like Humble Bundle and Fanatical.

I have blocked exactly 10 magazines, all non-English.

I've said this a bunch of times, but Mastodon's use of a chronological feed is what kills it. What it really needs is for the default tab to be a "trending" tab, cause that's what users want to see.

Is there any more ethical solution to our current circumstances than "murder all billionaires"?

Not that I'm particularly against that - quite the opposite, in fact. But I'm wondering if anyone sees, or had seen a path to social and climate recovery/progress that could occur without first eradicating the class of people who most enjoy the present status quo.

I feel like as soon as we get a better voting system in the US that gives true voter equality, then other issues will slowly begin getting fixed, including wealth inequality. Right now, the system gives too much power to states, which is a big problem when some cities have more people then some states do.

What does defederating from Meta's Threads.net actually accomplish?

Afaik, whenever an Activitypub instance has defederated from another it has always had to do with some combination of bad user behavior, poor moderation, and/or spam. Are the various instance admins who have decided to preemptively block threads.net simply convinced that these traits will be inevitable with it? Is it more of a...

Meta are performing what is called an EEE attack (Embrace, Extend, Extinguish). Basically, it involves a larger corporation creating a thing that hooks into an open standard, artificially inflating it, slowly adding new, proprietary closed-source features that other members of the open standard cannot use, and eventually removing support for the open standard entirely, forcing other users to enter their walled garden because that's where all the people are. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_extend,_and_extinguish

Florida bill allowing radioactive roads made of potentially cancer-causing mining waste signed by DeSantis (www.cbsnews.com)

Under the new bill, Florida could have roads made of phosphogypsum, a material known by the EPA to contain a "potentially cancer-causing, radioactive gas," that's the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S.

Now Florida is cancerous in more ways than one!

Omori is a great RPG with forgettable gameplay but an unforgettable story.

Ultrakill is an excellent shooter with fast pacing, unique mechanics, and difficulty that is hard but rarely unfair.

Satisfactory is a factory building simulator which is pretty similar to Factorio, but a bit more chill and in 3D.
