There was never any possibility that #Trump would subject himself to cross-examination under oath. I would more likely be appointed to head the RNC.

The press has run with this 'will he or won't he' nonsense for weeks to contrive some drama. It's pathetic. #media

Meanwhile, nobody even knows about stuff like the massive investments Biden and the Dems have put toward decarbonization and infrastructure. Or the fact that Trump is promising to bring about much higher rates of inflation.

I have to get my dad’s house cleaned out, which is gonna cost thousands of dollars. This guy showed up to pitch his services in a truck covered in fuck Joe and related stickers and it cost him real money. I’m sure it’s not the first time.

That’s your work truck, dude, and you service a county where got 36% of the vote.

These people are really not smart.

If they continue on this trajectory, Israel is gonna turn itself into another right-wing culture war item and that will not serve them well.

“The tone of this letter is not reflective of the fact that the U.S. is the primary guarantor of Israel’s security. An unaware reader would assume that is the superpower in this relationship and the U.S. the recipient of aid.”

@asbestos I was in Paris on 9/11 and it isn't a myth that random strangers were coming up to Americans and giving them hugs in the street. Then we invaded Iraq.

Similarly, the Israelis could have capitalized on the world's sympathies after that gruesome attack but they shat all over it instead.

Every political reporter and pundit talking about #RFKJr pulling 10-15% in the polls knows (or should know) that that means like 2% in November.

And the lion's share of those votes will come from cranky people who usually vote third party. #media #Election2024

But what about Ross Perot?!?

In a much less polarized era, Perot was leading both Clinton and Bush in June polls.

Just encountered a 20-something couple shouting, “does anyone know how to change a tire?!?” Went downstairs and put their donut on and the whole time I just kept thinking that this is such a cliché.

Given that 20% of the population think that witches exist, I think this shows that you were desperate to come up with a story idea and not that confusion over the issue is a challenge for Dems.

86 people and they couldn’t come up with something less stupid than holding up a bike lock sold by Columbia as evidence of “outside agitators.” Not the brightest bulbs in the chandelier.

It’s 2024. We’ve been through a Trump presidency. This is not in any way newsworthy.

Israeli defense experts estimate that has lost around a third of the 30k fighters it had before the war, just to put how unhinged this is into perspective.

Making kimchi is a massive pain in the ass but I love it both fresh and lightly fermented for a few days and you can’t buy it like that around these parts.

Four large Ball jars filled with kimchi.

John Timoney, the former police chief who became infamous for developing the fascistic “Miami Model” of crowd control, was once quoted saying, “you can beat the rap but you can’t beat the ride.” IOW, arrests don’t have to be lawful or stand up to judicial scrutiny to accomplish their purpose.

Many responses to this focus on Trump promising much worse but it just strikes me as incoherent.

Yes, made a small, late contribution to the moral panic but the crackdowns are coming from college administrators buckling under pressure from GOP demagogues in Congress and are carried out by local cops.

We hear a lot about the “new ” but we should acknowledge that the old kind is incredibly prevalent on the pro-Israel side.

Most “Christian Zionists” think Jews are money-grubbing, Hollywood-controlling globalists and would lose their shit if their kid dated one.

Think about the timing of this piece of fluff. It dropped the week that Johnson claimed that everyone knows intuitively that droves of unauthorized immigrants vote in US elections and the day that they adjourned for two weeks because they can’t pass anything without Dems helping them avert an imminent crisis.

I’m impressed by the intellectual flexibility that’s required to believe that college kids are both afflicted with extreme wokeness and are also prone to rabid expressions of .

These things can only be reconciled by claiming that calls for divestment or a ceasefire are inherently antisemitic. Which is common but nonsensical.
