Perry sought a pardon for his key role in trying to overturn the 2020 election. People who try to overthrow the U.S gov't don't belong in the House, let alone on the Intel Committee.

NEW YORK ELECTION LAW § 17-152 PREDICATE.

The jury gets three possible predicate crimes for 17-152.

Yeah, this seems to be accurate. I've heard other legal commentators explaining that it's similar to charging a burglar with burglary if he's caught breaking into a house even though we don't know what he was planning to steal once he got in there. The burglar himself might not even know what he was planning to steal since he hasn't seen what there is to steal yet. It's still burglary even if the house is empty with nothing worth stealing.

I'm gonna just say it (and from the perspective of a former trial lawyer with 37 years' experience): the posse of GOP slanderers Trump's bringing with him daily, and Trump's defense's failure to finish cross-examination of Michael Cohen today, are partly because they're hoping some idiot will kill Cohen before he's left the stand (because under the Sixth Amendment, no jury is allowed to rely on his testimony until his cross is complete).

Yes, I believe they're that evil. Stochastic terrorism is a tool, not an accident.
