LOL -- not laughing at Texans predicament -- and our own -- but the thoughts here that the insurance costs in Texas are linked to "inflation", and not to billion dollar disasters piling up end-to-end in the state. I wonder if they wrote this article before Houston last week. 🤔

@me_valentijn An hour and a half or more driving down, usually one to three hours of waiting, and hour or more driving up... as long as this goes well (ie they are safely delivered back) there is no downside, even with my paying for it. It's truly about a 6 hours commit and I can't do anything else...

@ukuku I suspect he's doing some local Uber/Lyft ahead of pickup (tiny hops he knows will get him done by their landing time), which is fine. At least, that's how I'd do it. I suspect he's trying to develop his own clientele, like many of the Uber/Lyft folks, on top of the gig work.

@Surflassie He may be Ubering around the local neighborhood, which is fine as long as he makes the pickup. I think a Uber/Lyft freelancer trying to develop a clientele, which is a great strategy for folks who can do it.
