It's TOOLSday on Sunday.

I'm making a custom package manager addin for Godot. The goal is to allow sharing of code and changes across projects using linked directories.

tl;dr, a UI on top of Homebrew casks. Niiice.

Well... it's Adobe's turn.

I think it’s entirely possible I’ve committed career suicide over Recall.

Worth it though. Had that shipped as planned it would have been a disaster.

:kitten: Say hello to the new Kitten web site! 🎉

https://kitten.small-web.org

Like Kitten itself, it’s a baby but will be evolving quickly as they approach API version 1 together.

Enjoy!

💕

PS. Of course it’s written in Kitten itself. It doesn’t do anything fancy but here’s the source code if you’re interested: https://codeberg.org/kitten/site

Godot Tile Maps are dead, long live TileMapLayer.

In the upcoming 4.3 (currently in beta), the TileMap class has been deprecated and replaced with the streamline TileMapLayer node. We look at how to use it and what's changed.

The great tragedy of is that it probably would have wider adoption if it stayed the course with MVC and Razor pages now that SSR is the latest trend.

The cycle returned to ASP.NET's strength, and Blazor had to pivot back to SSR to keep up.

Instead of being ahead of the curve, it's now behind it. 🤷‍♂️

Clean, spare UI that appears to support all the project types used in (which is nearly all of them), with lots of dev productivity helpers (some of which I'm finding annoying, but will probably appreciate over time).

For those who aren’t aware, Microsoft have decided to bake essentially an infostealer into base Windows OS and enable by default.

From the Microsoft FAQ: “Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers."

Info is stored locally - but rather than something like Redline stealing your local browser password vault, now they can just steal the last 3 months of everything you’ve typed and viewed in one database.

If anybody is wondering if you can enable Recall on a machine remotely without Copilot+ hardware support - yep.

I’ve also found a way to disable the tray icon.
