@sarajw I had this discussion with a someone and she told me this is the way to implement icons from a library.

Together we looked at the documentation and I showed her why it's not appropriate.

I recommended using a div or a span with aria-hidden="true" if it was just for decoration. She told me I've always done it this way and everyone else is also doing it this way.

So I told her again it's not appropriate, look what's it's actually made for. 😅 Was a good discussion and it made her think

I’m listed on a website with 39 other “accessibility blogs”, including those of some overlay vendors.

Two options:

  • Delete my entry to not give credibility to those bad actors
  • Keep my entry to not leave the space to them

I don’t think there is a lot of benefit for myself being listed there.

I want the RICE to be aligned.

Would be easy with a monospace font, but I need to use variable width.

Any clever thoughts?

@Edent from the top of my had I would suggest to try grid or tables but I can imagine screen reader implications.

You might make it work by applying an aria-label to the row with the respective content and adding aria-hidden to the cells within it.

I haven't tested it, but you should before shipping it. 🙂
