✍️ Day 14: Distilling how to use Participatory Live Coding in-person and online - Tips 7 and 8

Today, we have two more tips about this teaching technique for programming.

We will focus on our lesson plan, when and how we can improvise to avoid losing track, and how to use diagrams.

There are currently no accepted means by which openness can be validated for AI, yet many organizations are claiming their AI to be “Open Source.” Just as the Open Source Definition serves as the globally accepted standard for Open Source software, so will the Open Source AI Definition act as a standard for openness in AI systems and their components. https://opensource.org/blog/the-open-source-ai-definition-gets-closer-to-reality-with-a-global-workshop-series

✍️ Day 13: Distilling how to use Participatory Live Coding in-person and online - Tip 6

Participatory live coding can make it difficult to know if people are following along or unable to code due to issues. So today's tip is to

Get real-time feedback and provide immediate help.

I'm looking at a free BrowserStack plan for open source projects.

https://www.browserstack.com/open-source

They're not really clear about their requirements, although I'd assume they mean big projects with thousands of stars on GitHub. Right?

Anyone in the community has relevant knowledge/experience?

@stefan@stefanbohacek.online avatar

I mean, all my repos have 547 stars combined. Two of my WordPress plugins have been installed on "100+ sites". Four of my browser extensions have 240 installs across Firefox + Chrome.

Those are not big numbers, sure, but it seems like I provide enough value?

I don't know.

The page I linked to only asks for an "Open Source Project URL", and I don't really have one big project. Maybe I could build my case if I could submit all of my work together.

Why share technical stuff online? You never know how they may become useful to others!

10 months ago I found a fix to an Eleventy issue I had. I documented it on my website in my /snacks section. https://hamatti.org/snacks/fix-templatecontent-too-early-in-eleventy/

Today, I noticed someone having the same issue on 11ty Discord and went to share it. And then I found out that Christopher had already shared my solution in the issue and it had helped them!

• Budget : 150/180 €
:boost_ok: repouet apprécié 😊

Starting the day by deleting around 200 spam GitHub Discussions. Always a pleasure...

If GitHub's looking for AI topics: it could really help maintainers by spotting spam, blocking accounts, and automatically deleting discussions/issues so they have nothing to do.
