I learned in the 90's to never trust Apple. They want to trap you in their ecosystem at a very high price.
They want money, not social change. They are no different than any other corporation.

Then change the Icon Theme

That should fix the problem. I chose Breeze Dark. The +svg does not look good on my monitor.
