How do you select ideas from all the ones floating around?
My stories usually come when some person, or an image of them, an action they're doing, a location they're in, etc, gets stuck in my head. Usually there's a strong emotional feel attached. My new book, for instance, started when I was dozing away one morning and in my head a woman woke up next to a dead body and said, "Oh, no. Not again." That made me sit up.
Cruel Provocations, half-fey hunters protecting a rural utopia from the mechanised war-machines of the towns, including the terrifying new walkers, each armed with a six-barrelled canon capable of terrifying carnage.
In celebration of #Pride#PrideMonth, you'll find the central relationship is FF, and there's a badass female revenge plotline.
I get my ideas early in the morning. I'll sort of wake up and be dozing away, then these people come into my head. Often they are doing something and I don' know why.
The main character in my upcoming book woke up next to a dead body and said, "Oh, no. Not again." It took me MONTHS to work out why the fuck she said that.
Books already contain content warnings by how they are categorised, their cover images, blurb, etc. Adult, Young Adult, Children's, Romance, etc.
This is where the author can give the reader a good idea as to what's inside. If you feel the need for anything more specific, you probably haven't written your back cover (or web-page description) properly, or you need to find a better cover image.
@anathema_device I'd already forgotten about him, but now he brings himself into the public forum again, cementing our dislike of his hideousness. I'd use the phrase sucker for punishment, but honestly I think he wants to be punished as a some sort of subconscious expression of his guilt.

A couple of reviews already that are five stars, neither from people who have any reason to be nice to me. I'm overwhelmed.
I would suggest not using Amazon for a physical copy. They have KDP and get shirty about fulfilling other POD services. So Booktopia or Barnes & Noble for the physical. Amazon are great for the eBook versions, as are any of the other stores.
I know standards in public life have slipped dreadfully since the World Trade Centre attacks, but I am genuinely utterly shocked at the temper tantrum being thrown by senior members of the American congress over Trump’s conviction, and them laying the entire blame on Biden. Have things degraded so much that they can assume most of the public won’t care about them doing this? Or do they really think no one could think less of them for this disgusting, amoral stance?
@anathema_device Yes, things have degraded that much that they understand THEIR SUPPORTERS want to hear this, and that is all they care about. Securing their own future in power, even if not in government.
Back to the main story. I worked out what the structure of the difficult chapter is, so now I can write it. Hopefully the rest of this section will then flow more easily. What's your main difficulty at the moment? Or are you in full flow?
