The only feeling I have about starship is dread.

They want to use that to launch batches of HUNDREDS of Starlinks at once. And guess where all those Starlinks will end up? The pieces that don't make it to the ground will end up in our upper atmosphere, screwing up the stratosphere, the ozone layer, who knows what else because SpaceX isn't required to do any environmental assessments of this.

Gosh I love the sky here (even when it's trying to blow everything off the surface of the Earth, it's gorgeous!)

I went "dumpster diving" through old files last week. Cleaning out hard drive space to make room for new images. This is one of the gems I found hidden away.

Taken in 2019 on a trip to #Guatemala with my sibling. We were hiking up to a Volcano near #AntiguaGuatemala and we're constantly being engulfed in clouds. In fact, this forest is nicknamed cloud forest for that very reason.

In 2022 I had an incredible trip up to #Yukon #Canada. I spent two weeks hiking and camping around the Northern Artic, getting rained on, hailed on, snowed on, and of course had a few moments of sun too.

While there, I made a collection of #monochrome images to capture the cloud patterns on the peaks. These are some favorites.

Throwback to 2020. I spent a lot of time chasing down the locations I felt showed iconic scenes and infrastructure in the area. Moving from a smaller city to this one nearly every building and bridge felt gargantuan and worthy of an image.

The White Swan of Niagara (2022)

I think it goes without saying that anyone who visits Toronto and enjoys natural wonders should visit #NiagaraFalls it was definitely the highlight of my trip to #Toronto back in 2022. I desperately wanted to capture something that wasn't the 'standard' shot though. This is what I came away with, and I'm quite pleased with it. Really, you wouldn't necessarily know it's location without the title.

Stormchaser (2024)

I don't often photograph seascapes. The coast near where I live is protected and so the waves have never had the energy to create large or interesting rock formations. Because it's mostly granite, it also has high erosion resistance. This means most of it is a smoothed rocky surface as seen above, shallow without dramatic changes. Winter storms are the one time that we get enough wave action to create movement.

A quick example of just how much light can impact a scene. From no light, to maximum light and changing in less than a minute we go from complete vibrant and dynamic to flat and boring.

Sometime sits worth sitting and waiting for the right light.

Green & Glass (2024)

This will be the only image of the Aurora that makes my website I think. I specifically planned with a group of friends to meet at this location with hopes of getting the best images we could locally. I definitely think I did well. Extremely pleased with the results!
