3DPrinting Top

While I myself do not 3D print, I commissioned this crown and it came out amazing! (lemmy.world)

The crown is a 3D printed replica of the crown from the movie The Green Knight, starring Dev Patel as Sir Gawain. Absolutely loved the costume design in that movie. Incorporating the halos depicted around royalty in illuminated manuscripts and other artworks into the crowns themselves to infer divinity was just so fucking cool...

Any ideas on what is causing this issue? (lemmy.world)

I’ve been getting some problem layers with this filament, especially on flat pieces like this. The first layer is always good, but flat layers (top and bottom) that are not on the bed are not great, like the filament is sagging and not connecting to the lines next to it, regardless of if they are supported or not. This one was...

OC Polyhedron Kaleidoscope

Not 100% sure this counts as a functional print, since I purchased acrylic mirrors for this and cut them down. What I 3d printed were the templates for cutting the mirrors and the shell for holding it all together in the right shape and protecting it so my niece can play with it without breaking it....

MagSafe Mount for new Crosstrainer (i.imgur.com)

Got a new Crosstrainer and wanted to be able to easily mount my iPhone on it. On Amazon every fitting piece was around 35€. I had an old MagSafe Ring laying around, so I designed the mount around it, glued everything together and strapped it to my Crosstrainer using a cable tie. Works perfect!...
