My data protection assessment of TLS Session Tickets. While they are a unique identifier, all is OK. No consent needed. Another conclusion would mean that the data protection rules are inherently inadequate and harmful. https://blog.lukaszolejnik.com/tls-session-tickets-and-data-protection-gdpr-eprivacy/

Google, Facebook and Microsoft have decided to use all of your communications to train their AI, including social networks and your private emails.

According to Europe , California and Sealand act, you may opt out.

In order to opt out, copy/paste this message on your profile on social networks and send it to all your mail contacts. On Mastodon, you can also reboost this.

When you were celebrating , I studied the
Opt-Out Regulations

When you were filing complaints over consent UX I mastered the Right to Delete automation

While you wasted your days at the DPC over cases where the fix was already in, I cultivated the Authorized Agent

And now that the world is on fire and Meta demands surveillance or tribute you have the audacity to come to me for help?

(for real though, hth adapt CCPA opt-out stuff to Article 21 for those in Europe who need it now)

Doing a "right to access" data request at data broker Equifax.

They respond by sending me a "text file with very long lines" that has a .png (image!) file extension. This means most people won't be able to open it; Firefox surely says the file is corrupted.

Happens to everybody, right, when programming text downloads that they accidentally give them .png extensions, and QA doesn't catch it???!?

"Our records indicate that in 2022, Equifax received a Right to Know request from you under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Due to a technology issue, which has been resolved, the Right to Know request was not processed successfully."

How convenient? At least supposedly it has been fixed.

Notes from my Reddit Account Deletion saga: Well, after my Reddit permaban incident I went and deleted my Reddit account. https://infosec.exchange/@emresaglam/110403705605351765

After deleting my account I also went and did a California Consumer Privacy Act request. Their process was to authenticate and do the CCPA request over this web form. http://www.reddit.com/settings/data-request

Since I already deleted my account, there was no way for me to do the CCPA request and I ended up contacting them.

Reddit ended up reactivating my account and they made me go through the web form. This takes 30 days and in the end I should have a link that I can download the data that they know about me. I might do another update. (The process was smooth, kudos to Reddit)

In the mean while, I went and deleted everything I can in my account. These include: Posts, Comments, Messages, Friends (sorry). (Since I was suspended for no reason, I couldn’t change up/down votes.) I used Power Delete Suite Bookmarklet for this: https://github.com/j0be/PowerDeleteSuite

Since I wrote the request anyway, I also created a CCPA and GDPR request template for anyone to use, you can see it here. If you are a California or EU citizen feel free to use them. https://github.com/emresaglam/CCPA-GDPR_request_letter

I was worried that I would miss Reddit, but I didn't. This was probably the most pleasantly surprising part of getting rid of Reddit :)
