A friend invited me to watch the #ChrisPackham program 'Is It Time To Break The Law?' about taking #DirectAction regarding #ClimateChange. Very thought provoking indeed and I highly recommend watching it.

Whilst the aims of #ExtinctionRebelion and #JustStopOil are most admirable, I feel that it would be more effective if the infrastructure and executives of the organisations responsible for emissions were directly targeted. This list is comprehensive:

"Not just 'listening' to young people, which is patronising. But trusting them to be part of a decision-making process, and having the strength of character to sit back and watch them make mistakes, but also watch them make great steps forward far more quickly than the conservative thinking of the aged would do. So, I would feel more comfortable about the future of the planet if it weren't being governed by octogenarians..."

A reminder to all eco concerned on Mastodon, to keep up pressure on politicians over climate emergency. I sometimes despair, but if the Just Stop Oil kids can keep campaigning, so can we. And to hell with the idiots who criminalise them instead of the fossil fuel lobbyists and deniers.

I'm Taking The Prime Minister To The High Court | Chris Packham

In September the Prime Minister and his Government announced delays for key climate commitments, tearing up plans to tackle vehicle emissions & phase out gas boilers.

Today I can announce I'm taking them to the High Court – but I need your help.

What a star Chris Packham is. I'm so relieved we have a credible voice to push back against Tory denials and indifference to the climate emergency. Someone we can all get behind. My latest hero.

The Far Right always accuses everyone else of sending death threats because for them, it's a natural reaction to being told "no"

It's also a case of projection, because Chris Packham gets death threats all the time, he has dead animals stapled to his fence post, that's what he's up against with these animal abusers.

Some good news. Chris Packham has won his libel case against online shooting and hunting channel Fieldsports Channel, with substantial damages and costs awarded against them. I hope it puts them out of business.

Caught up with the first 2 episodes of this. What a great show! The low budget production is more than made up for by genuine enthusiasm and knowledge.

I bloody love Chris Packham!

is bloody brilliant and I honestly think the cancellation of is a good thing by freeing to make the show he's clearly always wanted to but couldn't have got away with on the BBC - not just admiring the beauty of nature but being honest about what we have to do to protect it. As well as gorgeous photography we got plugs for , veganism and , as well as a trans non binary bee expert.

OMG this sounds good:

"8 Out of 10 Bats" new show on YouTube...

said: “My main thrust is making sure all these youngsters have got some space and airtime. A young bloke called Rufus made a film about wall lizards, edited it on his phone and sent it to us. It’s just brilliant. Another film-maker made a minute-long film about what happens to an apple when it falls off a tree. It’s absolutely fantastic and beautifully shot.”

Watched 's excellent "Is It Time to Break the Law?" documentary last night and still thinking about it. 😕
Honest, raw, well made, thought-provoking and full of insightful (+painful) interviews/clips.
Certainly making me think even more about which side of history I want to be remembered for supporting... 🤔

Just watched the documentary "Is it time to break the law?".

Naturalist Chris Packham asks, "Is it time to break the law?"

It has always been time to break the law for a moral cause.

I was leading non-violent direct actions back in the 1980s, and was arrested countless times. I acted then with a historical awareness of social changes that would not have been realised without law-breaking.

Like me and my peers 40 years ago, the new generation can be a right pain in the arse, but what's the alternative?

An excellent documentary series exploring the deep geological history of the earth. Great to see such a high quality programme that'll inspire the next generation.
