No ‘gotcha’

I think the Wee Ginger Dug summed up the trial very well.

No, Pacific Quay, it really isn't. What is on the line here is the reputation of the British media in Scotland, which has treated this inquiry as an excuse to indulge in childish and overwrought point scoring against their favourite targets in the SNP and Scottish Government.

Given the hysterical and over the top reaction of the anti-independence media you'd think it was Sturgeon who said something as callous as "Let the bodies pile high," had liberally larded out PPE contracts to her mates, pushed for a herd immunity approach while deliberately allowing mass gatherings, ignored scientific advice and Eat out to Help out, all while she was hosting drunken and raucous parties in Bute House.

🇦🇺 Australia: "A national COVID inquiry is underway, but it will not deliver the accountability that Australians deserve. This is the position of a group of leading Australian academics, medical professionals and leaders who have thrown their support behind a proposed Royal Commission to make a proper review of the national COVID response."

Penny Mordaunt appears to be implying that someone either obtained her phone or remote access to it and removed messages between her and Johnson and her and Gove.

Rather than her paying for the forensic work to be done, all the involved devices should be forensically examined for the Inquiry.

So far, what we're being expected to believe is that Johnson was a brilliant statesman until his unscheduled factory reset in 2020, but now he's an idiot who can barely string two words together.

The House of Lords Economic Affairs Comm. is critical of the in its new report, identifying complacency & lack of good forecasting on as key shortcomings.

One of the key reasons they cite (echoing evidence by Helen MacNamara to the ) is a monoculture with key directors often drawn from the Treasury, leading to a deafness to alternative modelling & thinking within the BoE.

Looks like finally criticisms of governance by 'boys club' are gaining traction (?)

It was set up to examine the UK’s response to and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and learn lessons for the future.

Results so far show our Tory government in disarray, unprepared, and that the PM at the time, Boris Johnson, was “clearly bamboozled” by science and didn’t understand graphs.
He flip-flopped in his decisions.

We've been told that Rishi Sunak thought government should ‘let people die’ and was accused of saying it was more important to control scientists than Covid.

So this is bad. Very bad, but bare in mind that it is still the Tory Party in charge of the UK's response to climate change!!!

If the British people don't get these self interested clowns out of office soon, we will be completely fucked!

Son, it's because the public school system produces sociopaths who don't understand basic science and won't take advice from those who do.
