Good news: Network Support is in it.
Status: Still within #1440kB size for the #Core Edition.
Bad News: PCI(e) stack had to be yeeted in order to fit, so no #Networking in #VirtualBox
I'll now have to get my workflow to follow the pipeline that @SweetAIBelle has been builing...
I know.
It's the part where I derivated from the #Floppinux manual which went with #gzip instead of #xz, likely because that was customary for quite some time and even used by most #busybox - based distros otherwise.
After all, rarely do #embeddedLinux systems need to conserve storage that aggressively like with #OS1337...
Granted, the minimalist version will be minimal for obvious reasons: Neither of us can defy gravity...
It's just that I intent OS/1337 to be a starting point for something wider in scope long-term than being the most frugally possible Linux that can compile itself and act as basis for the underlying #toybox/Linux that powers #Android.
:boost_requested: :boost_animated: :boost_ok: #FollowerPower: Anyone with #Linux - #boot|ing #KnowHow able and willing to take a look why my current build of OS/1337 doesn't boot?
It's a 1440kB 3,5" #Floppy image and should work just fine in #VirtualBox / #QEMU / #KVM / #vmware but it's stuck after loading #Linux (bzImage) and the remaining files (rootfs.cpio.xz)...
Currently I just need to find out what went wrong and see how I can make OS/1337 go brrrrrr.
So if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to contact me: https://mstdn.social/@kkarhan/111409592616485280
Also #boosts appreciated!

I think they'd make a good "frugal computing" terminal and could really use a minimalist OS since I'm convinced the original #EeePC701 even struggles with #BunsenLabs#Linux.
I've ticketed this whole boot issue and have to get on to fixing it...
#w3m on the lead, over #lynx and #links2. The latter has unfortunately already been uninstalled, because of fonts and encodings problems. Lynx still resists, but…
