Through seven successive waves of enlargement, the EU family grew from six to 27 members. As their number grew, the life satisfaction of EU citizens increased as well; from 79% in 1973 to 86% in 2024.
R to @EU_Commission: 50 years on, the #Eurobarometer is a series of multi-topic, pan-European surveys undertaken to monitor regularly the state of public opinion in Europe.
Our latest #Eurobarometer on Europeans and their languages reveals a positive attitude towards language learning:
🗣️ 86% believe that everyone should speak at least one foreign language;
🗣️ 3 out of 5 can have a conversation in a foreign language;
🗣️ 76% think that improving language skills should be a policy priority;
🗣️ 84% believe that regional and minority languages should be protected.
🗳️ 64% of young Europeans intend to vote in the next European elections on 6-9 June;
🤝 64% have participated in youth organisations' activities in the past 12 months;
📣 48% had taken action to change society including signing a petition or participating in a rally.

According to the latest Eurobarometer survey, more than 81% of EU travellers are enjoying the freedom of calling, texting, and using #mobile#data without extra charges when exploring the EU and EEA countries.
The #EU Roaming rules have been in place since June 2017 and got extended last year until 2032.
