Still testing positive after 10 days of testing and 17 days of feeling sick.
Fuck Covid. And Fuck Cancer.
Logged an incident report at work explaining how I got this infection from a maskless co-worker because I was forced to be onsite and they knew their partner had "a mystery cold" and could work from home whenever they want but chose to come in anyway.
Yesterday, my best friend & another friend I hadn't seen in a decade, arrived for our second shot at a ladies' weekend we'd been trying to plan for months. [The first attempt had to be cancelled & rescheduled because one household got infected with SARS-COV-2 via kid's school]
Today I spent the entire day disabled by a migraine so fierce it made me throw up. Tomorrow they have to leave around noon.
In the 40+ years prior to getting #COVID, I'd never had migraines. #ThanksCOVID
I almost never get to see anyone, because not only do I have to be super careful about #SARSCOV2 exposures, in pandemic world in which most other people are pretending they don't know it's still a pandemic - I also live on an island.
So, yeah, these social events are few and far between & I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself right now. #FuckCOVID
Sadly, my BFF’s dad passed away on Tuesday. ❤️🩹😢❤️🩹
Grief is exhausting. Even when it’s not your own. My heart hurts for my friend having lost her last parent.
😢
He went to the hospital end of December for long COVID and they discovered cancer. It was aggressive lymphoma and long COVID weakened his immune system so he could not even begin to fight it.
Please stand by as my brain recalibrates. I have zero bandwidth.
BTW #COVID19 delayed my #chemo, so we cancelled our annual Dim Sum shenanigans with friends.
i did go out the other day, but TBH am even more paranoid about any kind of infection, #flu#theCold whatever since ending in the emergency room.
so even though my sons are here, it's been a very #sociallyDistant holiday season since turkey day; but my chosen family understands and that makes me happy.
Update on my partner, he's still positive (day 9 of positive tests, day 10 since symptoms, and 12 days since exposure). He's starting to feel a little better, cold-like symptoms remain and immense fatigue. He'll continue isolating until he's had two negative tests 48 hours apart.
In other news, today was an exciting day for me. All booked for my #Novavax COVID shot! I had to wait 90 days from my previous positive test in August, per epidemiological recommendations, and I have to drive 45 minutes to the nearest location that carries it, but I'm looking forward to the protection it'll offer before the next surge.
