Every so often some idiot pops up on my timeline with the same virtually identical vacuous question mentioning Hamas, that has nothing to do with my post.
#AlJazeera: Biden administration is reporting the IDF is now deliberately targeting and killing Palestinian police officers escorting relief trucks in #Gaza. This is leaving what little relief there is to be looted by armed groups inside the Strip.
Civil order is breaking down. Meanwhile the Americans and the "British" et al continue to prop up Netanyahu with cash and bombs.
Excellent coverage and discussion of the continuing #Wetminster fiasco, Sarwar and Murray's lies, the dodgy behaviour of Hoyle and the cynical manoeuvring of Starmer's "Labour" Party in this week's "Holyrood Weekly Podcast" from The National.
Just watched Cameron at the #UN discussing #Ukraine and its need for continuing military support. He was awfully concerned about the implications of leaving a smaller country at the mercy of a stronger, more heavily armed neighbour.
Not a hint of irony. Not a whiff of conscience.
Just immense cynicism and hypocrisy, conveyed in an impeccable old Etonian accent.
"Starmer has denied he exerted pressure on Hoyle: But he would say that, wouldn't he? Starmer has repeatedly lied before, his words are meaningless now. Starmer has proven he's a nasty and undemocratic authoritarian, every bit as vile as the Tories he claims so desperately to be a change from. This grubby and sordid episode is a foretaste of what we are in for with a Starmer government."
"In just the first two months of Israel’s war on Gaza, Canada issued more than $28 million worth of export permits for military goods that would be sent to Israel. That’s more than Canada has ever permitted to be exported to Israel before, over the course of entire years. That means that as Israel’s slaughter of Palestinians ramped up last year, there was a huge increase in Canadian companies asking to send them military goods."
"Had the Commons backed the SNP’s motion, a full-throated call to “end the collective punishment of the Palestinian people” and “press for a ceasefire now”, it would have been a meaningful statement for the world."
"Hoyle agreed to let Labour hijack the SNP’s motion – despite the fact that Labour has more than six times as many annual debate days and hasn’t used any to focus on Gaza".
"[The SNP] acted wholly within their rights to present what... was a genuine and honest statement of their desire to the House of Commons, seeking that it be voted upon, as was their right."
"After the debacle of last night, it is hard to see [the Labour leadership] as anything but grubby power-grabbers intent on achieving their personal goal of office irrespective of who is harmed as a consequence."
A reminder that in the midst of the Starmer-inspired fiasco at Westminster today, the fascist storm troopers of the IDF have killed more defenceless Palestinian men, women and children.
The killing will continue tomorrow. The Israelis will continue to kill with impunity.
Not a surprise but with the latest UN Security Council Veto the US is alone in its ongoing support of Israel's genocide against Palestine. In our support of Israel we are also guilty of war crimes and genocide. A link roundup to the most recent stories covering #Gaza#ApartheidIsrael#IsraelGenocide
"Lisa Nandy has said Labour’s amendment to the #SNP motion calling for an immediate ceasefire in #Gaza is a moment to “lift our debate up” away from party politics and “speak with one voice”, ahead of what is likely to be a tense Commons vote on Wednesday."
They don't know when it's better to shut up, do they?
"Shadow British Proconsul in Scotland" Ian Murray, "Trust me I always tell the truth" Alistair Carmichael, "Beat the Jocks like the Catalans" Nandy and "The English NHS is safe in my hands" Victoria Atkins - all bumping their gums and lying through their teeth about the nasty #SNP and its "deplorable" [sic] ceasefire motion.
"US vetoes Arab-backed UN resolution demanding ceasefire in #Gaza. Vote in 15-member security council was 13-1 with UK abstaining, making it the US’s third veto of such a resolution."
@MadeyeTheCarnaptious It seems the full text of Labour's motion is even weaker than anticipated - check this out as a sub-clause:
" ... noting that Israel cannot be expected to cease fighting if Hamas continues with violence and that Israelis have the right to the assurance that the horror of 7th October cannot happen again ... "

"Keir Starmer is ordering his MPs to abstain on the SNP's #Gaza ceasefire motion because it accuses Israel of engaging in the "collective punishment" of the Palestinian people, it has been reported."
"Robert Peston has reported that Starmer will issue a three-line whip ordering his MPs to abstain on the original motion. [...] anyone on his frontbench who supports the SNP motion could face being sacked."
"Palestine’s UN envoy Riyad Mansour was moved to tears in his final remarks at the ICJ’s hearing on Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories as he described how international law has not protected Palestinian children in #Gaza or the #OccupiedWestBank."
