THESE FVCKTARDS

VIA @oatmeal

VIA Knesset member Ahmad Tibi [@Ahmad_tibi]:

[...] "Only a racist and corrupt police force arrests a citizen like Rasha Khreim Kharami from Majd Al-Krum, an Arab woman, because of a post against the war and a post against the police: handcuffs and blindfolding in the police station courtyard. She was brought before a judge, who released her home. The attackers of the kidnapped families are not arrested, the settlers who attack Palestinians are not arrested, the murderers and crime organizations roam free. But Rasha is arrested as a means of punishment and humiliation."

/ Israel announces largest West Bank land seizure since 1993 during Blinken visit

Israel's settlements in the occupied West Bank are widely viewed as a violation of international law, which prohibits the transfer of civilian populations to territories seized through military force. Despite this legal standing, the Israeli government has continued to expand its control over Palestinian lands in the West Bank through various mechanisms, including land appropriation orders.

[…] “If the Israelis annex this area near Maale Adumim, it will be a catastrophe for Palestinians who live in the south, […] Palestinian traders, especially in the south, will be cut off, and it will become impossible to have any independent Palestinian ways of life.”

/ A Palestinian Boy Was Shot by Israeli Troops in Front of His Father, and Died in His Brother's Arms

The dehumanizing reality of life under Israeli occupation, where Palestinian families face constant threats of violence from both Israeli troops and settlers with little protection, is nothing new. Nor is Israel's impunity despite the illegality of the occupation. However, the level of violence and its barbaric cruelty are intensifying. If anyone wonders how bad this situation can get... look at Gaza.

Gideon Levi is telling the tragic killing of 10-year-old Amro Najar by Israeli troops in front of his father and younger brother Ahmed in the West Bank village of . Amro was shot in the head through the windshield of his father's pickup truck as they were driving home after running errands. Amro bled to death in the arms of his traumatized 7-year-old brother Ahmed.

/ More US Sanctions: Two West Bank Outposts and Three Settlers

The has imposed its second round of sanctions on Israeli settlers since President Joe 's executive order, marking the first-ever sanctions on entire Israeli outposts in the West Bank. The sanctioned outposts are Moshe's Farms and Zvi's Farms, and the three settlers targeted are Zvi Bar Yosef, Neriya Ben Pazi, and Moshe Sharvit.

The decision is seen as a significant step by the Biden administration to address the issue of extremist settler violence against Palestinian and Israeli civilians in the occupied territories.

/ The 'O' Word

[...] will warn Israel on Wednesday that its patience is running thin over the "dreadful suffering" in Gaza, where a lack of aid is leading people to die of hunger, foreign minister David Cameron said.

[...] Cameron, who is due to meet Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz on Wednesday, told parliament late on Tuesday that Israel's handling of aid for Gaza, as the occupying power, raised questions over its compliance with international law.

Finally.

This shift in perspective is long overdue. The narrative of Israel as a passive recipient of aggression from an irrational adversary is still dominant. Comments like this help to shift the discourse and contextualize the conflict within the much broader dynamics of the brutal occupation of Palestinian lands and the asymmetric power relations.

/ “we are against the killing of innocents on both sides, but the other [Zionist] side enjoys the killing”

Mohammad Barakeh [محمد بركة], head of the High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens of Israel [لجنة المتابعة العليا للجماهير العربية في إسرائيل], spoke at a protest against the war in Kafr Kanna and said that "anyone who supports this war - from to the last soldier who shoots at a Palestinian - is outside the human norm, and should be behind bars."

Barakeh also said that "a massacre is also taking place in the West Bank, we will no longer be silent about what they want to do in al-Aqsa - we will defend al-Aqsa." According to him, "from the beginning we said that we are against the killing of innocents on both sides, but the other Zionist side enjoys the killing."

oatmeal,

Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir on "Face the Nation," October 1973

Israel's leaders' megalomania and hubris were always so evident, it's embarrassing to think Netanyahu and his Ultranationalist coalition are somehow different from what came before them.

[~18:15] There's no problem of a solution. If you're talking about refugees, they should have been out of the camps 20 years ago. We almost took out of the camps many refugees in the Gaza Strip since the 6-day war, but there is room for the refugees in Jordan and there is no doubt that if they want a peaceful solution, Jordan is the natural place for Palestinians if they want to live there.

[~18:50] There are 20 independent Arab countries, but if the Palestinians want to come to more of self-expression, there's no doubt that between Israel and Jordan there would be one Arab state - Jordan. And that part across the border of Israel, that's an Arab state, that's Jordan. They call it Palestine, Jordan, Palestine, doesn't make a bit of difference.
