I have an #eWaste problem that I would like to solve: two #dell laptops that refuse to boot. One lights up for a couple of seconds, before shutting down again. The other seems completely dead, even after replacing the battery. The laptops are otherwise in decent conditions and I would like to revitalize them for my kids as they come of age.
Does anyone know of any communities or online spaces where freelancers can share advice about their craft and support one another? I'm planning on switching from full-time employment to freelance (in motion graphics) and I am interested in making connections with other freelancers in this field, mainly so it feels a bit less daunting and lonely!

What's the #fediquette (#fediverse#netiquette) concerning boosting your own toots CROSS-SERVER? Say I have a backup account on server X but normally use server Y for posting. Is it acceptable to regularly boost the content from Y using the server X account, or is it frowned upon?
Why is it that sometimes I'll see a toot with replies but I'm unable to see the replies? Or I'll see a reply but be unable to see the original post? It feels like pieces of the conversations are just missing.
#Mastodon has an "automated post deletion" built-in feature. But is there an automated way to undo boosts after a certain period of time? If so, is there a way to keep those boosts that were also starred? #MastoHelp#FediHelp#AskFedi
