One of the more iconic signs in River North. I took this on Thursday evening on my way to church for Maundy Thursday. I feel lucky to have seen the sign in this light because I am not usually there at this time.
The Iconic Barrowland Ballroom Neon Sign on Gallowgate in Glasgow.
The Ballroom was first built by Maggie McIver, the Barras Queen, in 1934. On its roof was sign depicted a man pushing a barrow, which is thought to have been the first animated neon sign in the UK.
@jenn big milk strikes again! This time at the #NYC Marathon finish line. Here are photos of three days of bending- and an install starting at midnight-till now.
Wow- I love working with #union folks- we barely had to do any work at all- just boss people around- and they didn't even break any of my tubes- yippee!
The marathon neon really lights up the finish line- people will be basking in the milk white glow!
My favorite neon selection from Vegas. Admittedly, I didn't get to downtown (where most of the neon is these days) in the evening. I really didn't have time to explore as much as I wanted to- oh well- next time. Certainly the strip follows the same formula as much of the world- corporate labour cutting and LED signs made cheaply overseas. The real neon around really looks good though! Super bright, vibrant and #ambiance casting! #neon#sculpture#lasvegas#sign#handmade#extravaganza#neonsign
Some photos from a studio visit in San Francisco with Ames Palms of Rebel Neon. After working for many of the other big companies in the area, Ames started their own #neon shop specializing in artistic and often unconventional neon projects that often push the limits of the material. They are a neat artist and person and are cultivating a community of makers and artists in their space!
