"Anarchism's great project is to dissolve the asymmetry of power. How? There are thousands of alternatives and there is not only one solution. To advance 'one' solution would be a doctrine of power, a manifestation of power."
@strypey Human Rights is the one doctrine, a prime directive, if you will, that by definition does not pit one party against another in a power struggle. Equal rights for all!
I couldn’t agree more! I’m thoroughly disgusted by both branches of the american duopoly of aristocratic-ochlocracy.
You might appreciate some of the posts that I’ve made in #NoHumanRightsNoAmerica - in particular there is a yard-sign design that needs to take off in a grassroots way.
If all of us reasonable, non-extremophiles can band together into a new majority third-party, we’ll be able to clamp down on the civil war mongers.
Texas House Bill 1147 will require all #texasschools to purchase and maintain battlefield trauma kits with military-grade tourniquets and compression bandages to stop “excessive bleeding”. Also known as “gunshot wounds.”
Oh, and they have to train all students from the third grade up to use them.
So don’t let them read Judy Blume, but do teachb 9-year-olds to be combat medics.
Have you heard about the strange weather phenomenon in Zaporizhia @anderspuck?
This is something meteorologists call "optimal counter offensive conditions".

A milestone document in the history of human rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights set out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected. It has been translated into over 500 languages.
Amnesty International writes that "The United States signed the Covenant in 1979 under the Carter administration but is not fully bound by it until it is ratified. For political reasons, the Carter administration did not push for the necessary review of the Covenant by the Senate, which must give its 'advice and consent' before the US can ratify a treaty. The Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations took the view that economic, social, and cultural rights were not really rights but merely desirable social goals and therefore should not be the object of binding treaties. The Clinton Administration did not deny the nature of these rights but did not find it politically expedient to engage in a battle with Congress over the Covenant. The George W. Bush administration followed in line with the view of the previous Bush administration."[64] The Obama Administration stated "The Administration does not seek action at this time" on the Covenant.[65] The Heritage Foundation, a critical conservative think tank, argues that signing it would oblige the introduction of policies that it opposes such as universal health care.[66]
And if you are using Mastodon, check out #NoHumanRightsNoAmerica for the strategy to take them to task on Human Rights.
@Sh4d0w_H34rt@RollingStone If they really cared to make real progress, they would have actually ratified the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
United States of America, Signed: 5 October 1977, Ratified: No.
The Obama Administration stated "The Administration does not seek action at this time" on the Covenant.
"And how long shall we have to wait before the rest of mankind become pacifists too? There is no telling. ... By what paths or by what side-tracks this will come about we cannot guess. But one thing we can say: whatever fosters the growth of civilization works at the same time against war."
Can all of Americans get together on a class action lawsuit against the NRA and Republicans for emotional trauma and holding the nation hostage on current gun laws?
Not really asking for a friend. Asking for everyone 😢
@Lowie How about another class action lawsuit against the Republicans and the Democrats for not yet ratifying the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights?
There are two very wrong, very dangerous claims being made in my mentions right now. One is that nothing ever happens on gun safety. The other is that Democrats have done nothing on the issue.
There’s even an odd third one claiming Democrats haven’t been bipartisan enough on it. These claims are not only wrong but dangerous to efforts to elect people to office who will bring more change. They’re dangerous to efforts to save more lives. Don’t spread such things if you care about helping. 1/3
@SusanHR some of us are appalled that anyone would compromise themselves by explicitly choosing evil. if you can’t vote your conscience, then something is very wrong with the system.
@Bargdaffy@TheUSASingers If they really cared to make real progress, they would have actually ratified the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
United States of America, Signed: 5 October 1977, Ratified: No.
