Since some of you seem to enjoy these tessellation experiments, here's an old projection mapping installation project of mine for which I combined similar patterns with digital fabrication (laser cutting & cutting plotters) to produce two Victorian-style room dividers with 620 handfolded paper cones, which were then used as 3D projection surface. Visitors could use an iPad app, housed in a small dolly table (also laser cut), to produce custom animated patterns which were then projected onto the paper cones...
for the last week i've been updating the 'archive page' on the Fold Up Toys website, a retirement home for my old and forgotten templates to collect digital dust.
this latest update means the archive includes 90+ old #papercraft templates. i still have plenty more to upload
adding some more old #papercraft to the archive today and was confronted with that time i made an incredibly buff Tony the Tiger and i promise you it was not for the reason you're thinking 💪 🐯
This is what I've been working on (very intermittently, because there was lots of procrastination) since late December. This red squirrel is hand #embroidery based on a #PaperCraft model at the Canon website designed by Katsuyuki Shiga https://creativepark.canon/en/contents/CNT-0025964/index.html but somehow mine ended up much curvier.
🍰 today is 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐔𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲 and for me it marks 𝟏𝟓 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 of designing #papercraft

It's up at Walrus Design on Cambie Street as part of the Be Longing show until the end of March if you'd like to go see it in person, details on the exhibit here https://rachaelashe.com/news/exhibition-be-longing
I've added buffers and coupling and now the model is complete. 3679 numbered parts, 4600 rivets, and a year and a half of work but it was worth it😀 But now I'm a bit worried what it will be like to not work on it😅 #papercraft#train#scalemodel#finallyCompleted
Another day, another YouTube Short. In this one I receive Spellbinders Better Press Plates of the Month for February. Then I create two quick cards with them. They're very shiny! ✨
