Last night we finished watching the final season of “Reservation Dogs” and I have to say the three seasons are some of the best TV I've ever watched. Huge credit to Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi for creating it and Waititi for using his considerable weight to making it possible.
I was particularly impressed with how often I was dreading particular tropes only to see very real, very honest, very human stories about people whose stories are too often lost.
@design_law Having finished the last seasons of #WhatWeDoInTheShadows and #ReservationDogs we were hoping to continue the #Waititi theme and move on to the 2nd season of #OurFlagMeansDeath but were foiled by repeated errors in the terrible HBO/Max streaming app and have to pick a non-Waititi option for now, maybe the sequel to "Justified".
Today is Indigenous People’s Day in the U.S. I highly recommend the series Reservation Dogs.
It’s the first series to feature all indigenous writers and directors, along with an almost entirely indigenous North American cast and production team.
Everything about it is outstanding. The writing, the characters, the acting…everything.
#ReservationDogs ends its three cycle journey tonight. It is by far one of the finest, most unique and most emotionally intense shows I have EVER seen and I celebrate all who contributed to this masterpiece. If you have yet to walk along with this show please do.
If you enjoyed #ReservationDogs you really have to check out #DarkWinds - different vibe, more of a supernatural murder-mystery, but they share some cast and feature top-notch performances!
Filmed in #Navajo country around Monument Valley, too
@jcrabapple We're already halfway through season three - I'm not looking forward to seeing the #ReservationDogs season end, so I hope the #strike is settled soon
Watching #ReservationDogs alongside #DarkWinds can be a bit trippy, when you confuse Zahn McClarnon as "Big" in Dark Winds with Joe Leaphorn in Reservation Dogs. Or... Wait, no... the other way around!
Great shows and McClarnon is an amazing actor on top of it.
This week's episode of #ReservationDogs is an incredible, insightful, and hilarious meditation on the nature of generational trauma.
The uncles/elders think they're the ones helping Cheese but Cheese also helps them open up about past struggles and perceived failures. Everyone heals a little and it's beautiful.
It really is about community and family and supporting everyone in your life. :blobMeltSobLove:
“People are only concerned with things they can see and hear. But there are other layers of life that can’t be seen or spoken of. These need just as much attention and just as much care.”
OFFICIAL TRAILER for FX’s Reservation Dogs. The Third and Final Season. Streaming only on Hulu.
Latest episode of #ReservationDogs is a flashback to 1976. The Rez Dogs' ancestors are drinking, smoking and dropping windowpane. Soundtrack includes #13thFloorElevators, #UltimateSpinach and #AmonDüül . Music only one reason this is one of the best series on TV.
