🎧 In 1969, the #Detroit band #RareEarth recorded and released a cover of #TheTemptations' "Get Ready" written by #SmokeyRobinson. The radio version was straight-ahead blues-rock and a top-40 hit. Have a listen to the 22-minute psychedelic jam version here. This was also #Motown, released on their Rare Earth label. It was the late 60s, man.

🎧 #Mood | Exactly 50 years ago, in August 1973, #EddieKendricks had his first big hit after #TheTemptations with "Keep on Truckin'"

I was summer-jobbing in Myrtle Beach at a putt-putt where the radio played on speakers around the course.

One night, the song came on and a Mom on 18, just outside my little hut, boogied and lip-synced using her putter as a mic/stand.

This is the LP version, 7:59.
