Country & Western doesn't get enough love on Fridays so let's change that. My music share for this week's theme is easy - Ghost Riders in the Sky. Which version is the tough choice because it's been covered by everyone in the past 70+ years (released in 1948 by Stanley Davis Jones). I'm a fan of the Marty Robbins cover but today I'll share an instrumental with Glen Campbell and, one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Roy Clark.
Jukebox Friday Night's theme this week is Up In The Sky. Going to go with the first song that popped in my head, which is the song "Fly" from Korean Hip Hop group, Epik High.
@karen If you want other good hip hop acts from those years of Early Epik High. They were part of The Movement Crew with Drunken Tiger, Leessang, Dynamic Duo, Tasha (Yoonmirae), and others. I recommend checking out most of their music.
This album was my introduction to Jethro Tull when my dad bought it on vinyl as I liked the sci-fi imagery of the cover, even though it's technically an Ian Anderson solo album (hence the title "A") with a move to electronic music and darker themes from pure folk and fantasy.
Late as usual - this time because I had my heart set on a very particular track, and it's nowhere to be found for streaming. (Kiwi vocalist Malcolm McNeill's cover of Moondance, from his self titled 1982 debut - one of my dear departed dad's favourite albums, which I'm pretty fond of myself.)
But here's a very different old fave: "Fear the Moon" by Aussie lovelies Clouds, from their fantastic 1991 album Penny Century. Still touring!
