I hold no sympathy to the banks who helped Elon buy Twitter, they are on the hook for a pretty sizable loss because the huge drop in value of Twitter, now called X.They will surely lose all their money if Twitter actually goes down, which there is a huge possibility it will.

일론 머스크의 트위터 인수 이후 '토픽' 선택 옵션이 사라져서 비관심사 알림을 못 꺼서 고통 받았어요.
하루가 멀다하고 보지도 않는 아니메/만화 알림을 계속 받는데 아무리 '덜 보기'를 눌러도 계속 모르는 이의 게시물 알림이 와요.
이제 트위터 모바일 서비스에서는 '관심사'를 메뉴가 안보여 없어진 줄 알았는데, 웹사이트에서는 아직 살아 있네요.

This is basically a case study not how to run a company. Still, I have a feeling it might be the end of social platforms as interest rates continue to go up or stay high with the end of loose central bank monetary policy. With Pebble shutting down, it will be a matter of time until others, including Bluesky meet the same fate as they have to turn a profit. Social media platforms are simply not profitable.
This is why I think the Fediverse will survive while the big platforms including Bluesky will collapse as it does not use ActivityPub, which more software is implementing as seen with WordPress.
Getting onto Mastodon or Misskey (and all those forks) is the best course of action. All roads lead to the Fediverse along with the return of things like websites, blogs, and Internet forums,
The numbers are in, and it’s not looking good as Twitter lost 13% of it’s active users after a year Elon bought Twitter. I wonder how the numbers will fare once he starts pay walling Twitter.
This doesn’t bode well in the long term survival of Twitter/X. Most of the biggest advertisers aren’t advertising on Twitter any more, maybe because of all the hate speech, extremism, and misinformation perhaps.
It looks like Elon might pull the plug on Twitter at least in the EU. It looks like he doesn't want to deal with the DSA, especially in regards to misinformation.
Time to prepare for another possible wave of new users, soon.

Another instance of not thinking things through, but not surprising since this new ad format reeks despiration.
The new format could violate FTC rules for misleading users.
Under Section 5(a) of the US Federal Trade Commission Act, companies are banned from using deceptive ad practices, meaning consumers must know that ads are, well, ads. For social platforms, this means that any native advertising, or advertising designed to look like content on the platform, needs to be clearly labeled.
With no indicator stating that it is an ad and still looking like a normal tweet, this can be a problem.
EU may as well just block the entirety of Twitter/X instead of fining them. It’s not like they are going to pay the fine and comply by removing the misinformation.
Either way, gloves are off, hopefully the EU does the right thing and block Twitter since there will most likely be violations to the DSA.
Also, Meta and TikTok are in the crosshairs for the same misinformation as well.
This is just bad, especially for accessibility, but this like removing the headlines from links is just another terrible move in the further enshittification of Twitter that might push more people to leave.
