... and as contrast to that calming, idyllic pastoral landscape - some more dingy, derelict architecture from that shipyard at #Gdańsk, #Poland - March 2008.
Cambusnethan House near Wishaw in North Lanarkshire. Built in 1820, it was designed in a Neo-Gothic style by James Gillespie Graham. It was gutted by a fire in the 1980s and now only the ruined shell of this once great house remains standing.
The ruins of Dundyvan Parish Church in Coatbridge to the east of Glasgow. Designed by Alexander Cullen in a Gothic revival style with an unusual crown tower topped by a spire, this church was built in 1905.
I love photographing abandoned buildings. There is always so much character and beauty if you can see behind the dilapidation. I loved the colors and textures in this shot.
Window and Wall Textures is available here. It can be shipped worldwide on canvas & poster roll. Any other format (stretched canvas, acrylic, etc.) ships free in the continental USA and Canada.
The cart entrance to the old Crown Mill on Washington Street in the Anderston Area of Glasgow. This Italianate building was constructed in 1862, but all that is now left is the boarded up ground floor. However, you can still see traces of the company's name as a ghost sign above the door.
Still more #Brighton's West Pier - again from April 2003. (I'll move on to marginally more recent photos chronicling its ongoing collapse in due course!)
