So when #MuskyTwitter was purchased I joined Mastodon, Post, Spill, Spoutible and BlueSky. Post is going belly up on 5/31. I left Spill because of members policing the way I engage on social media. If I wanted to be critiqued and criticized in my downtime I could go read my course evaluations. Now spam complaints on Mastodon?? Thanks to everyone who followed me over to the new server and to all new people. For the new people: I post mainly about matters relevant to communities of color, particularly Black folks. I post about abolition, what it is and why it’s needed. I post on African music and cultural events in the DC/NY corridor. I’m a lawyer and retired law prof. I do pay attention to notable trials. I don’t do free lifting for white folks who can look up things on the internet.
The conclusion is correct (graduate degree holding white men believe the most 'taboo' conspiracy theories), but the reasons it suggests why, are sociology-babble garbage. The real reason is:
Racism is a lie. To believe in racism, you must believe a set of easily debunkable lies.
Richer, whiter, maler, more educated populations are not less racist, despite attempts to twist stats to say this. They're more racist.
@williampietri@mekkaokereke I've had similar experiences. And this is one of the major reasons why Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter was such a tragedy, and why white people should realize that there are actually legitimate reasons for some people to remain there.
