Had a nice Snack & Play, in the "easy going boardgames"-Edition.
We played Fantasy Realms, Qwixx, Quacksalber and Hey, That's My Fish, to cool down from the hot weather 🐧 #Brettspiele#Boardgames
Some of the goodies I picked up yesterday at the Exeter Legionary Wargames Show. Some classic 2nd edition Gretchin and Space Marine scouts, some Bolt Action Australians, and some of the classic paints, including Goblin Green.... let's hope they still work.
Last game of the day was Greece Lightning. This is a light filler racing game where you race ships through Grecian waters, collecting fish, godly favors and avoiding the hydra. The box cover is kinda boring compared to the game. #BoardGames
Greater Good - Krooll Wild Rider sent to my by Wargame Exclusive painted up today. I had a lot of fun with this model, there is a load of detail and character to it.
Another game of Fit to Print on the table. We usually play new games a couple of times to get the rules in our heads. This time I won and I played way better than a few days ago. #BoardGames
The first board game printed in America was called "The Travellers' Tour." It described itself as a "pleasing and instructive pastime," and consists of a hand-colored map of the then-24 states, with numbered circles, and a numbered list of 139 towns and cities. The game used a teetotum — an alternative to dice but without the gambling connotations — and was based on players' memories and geographical knowledge. Here's @TheConversationUS's Matthew Wynn Sivils on what the game can teach us about the U.S. in the 19th century. Tell us in the comments what board games you recommend!
Went to a board game cafe for the first time and it was a lot of fun. We played:
• Mysterium Park: Meh, wouldn’t bother playing again.
• Poetry for Neanderthals: Absolutely tears-rolling-down-face can’t-breathe hilarious. Funniest utterances “tastes like brown” and “wet cheese”. Will buy this one for the niblings.
#boardgames
