Sitting on the back veranda of my hillside home on 8 acres at dusk. Lights just coming on in the Rogue Valley below and on the Cascade Mountains foothills on the other side of the valley. Red headed woodpecker is chattering as it nests, and a great horned owl is hooting from the Oaks below, no doubt on the prowl for a meal. It’s been dry, so the frogs have stopped singing but crickets are still ever-present in the background. In the distance, an occasional glass pack muffler or high-revving cafe racer shatters the evening quiet then fades away. #ruminations#BackPorch#Evenings
