Does anyone think this person isn't lying? Like, to an empathetic person who genuinely opposes racism, it should be obvious that if you're talking about something that could be harassment, and it's being done to a Black person, then it's extremely reasonable to conclude that racism is at play.
So, to volunteer to reply to a Black person who's pointing out racist harassment to tell them that, in your opinion, it's harassment that's not "specifically anti-black" would be essentially to tell that Black person that there's nothing specific about them to you. Which is racist.

I hate when people post political stuff on Fedi, because it makes me mentally unstable. I wish Sharkey had an option to hide posts from view and in the process mute the authors, and that tagging doomposts was mandatory. For my own mental health I deliberately live under a rock, and I hate that people are mass-sharing bad news on Fedi. It didn't used to be that way in 2022. God, what is wrong with people who don't tag political or other doomposts. It takes a fucking day to wash that shit out of my mind. Not only spoiler it, but hashtag it so I can block the entire tag. Otherwise I may potentially start mass-blocking users who post or boost such posts, and I really do not want to have to do that. Recently I've seen accounts from the @newmast.community domain automatically retooting my toots, based on specific hashtags.
All these accounts apparently aim to share posts from mastodon, bluesky and threads.
This is quite an invasive practice. If I'm retooted, I want it to be by "real people", and bcos my post was interesting or useful to someone.
So I've blocked their domains (they also have @newsmast.social) and accounts.

Well, I got my first white supremacist reply from the fediverse after posting an article about Elon from Flipboard.
I reported and blocked the account. I also looked at the instance admin's account and it's clear he's also a white supremacist. So that instance will be blocked on flipboard.com and flipboard.social as well as shared with other instance admins as a problematic instance for them to take action if they also deem appropriate. Took all of 2 minutes to help make the fediverse a bit better for everyone.
And the best thing is that anyone in the fediverse can do this too. Decentralized moderation FTW.
@mike If you don’t mind, sharing the domain with the #fediblock hashtag will make other admins aware of it too, if they aren’t already, so they can block it also.

I'm putting this under #FediBlock because I've noticed that since 12 PM EDT yesterday (30-Apr-2024), API requests coming in from 216.106.86.232 have been returning 500 errors constantly from my server. No other 500 errors were being returned.
I blocked the IP at the Cloudflare firewall and now the 500 errors have stopped. There were more than 93K 500 return codes in total until now!
I have no idea what the requests are, and it's too late at night to do more research, but I'm passing this along to other Admins as a warning and to see if anyone else is seeing similar behavior.
