patatas bravas for lunch, yesterdays mango cheesecake.

the former was AMAZING (but i put too much chicken stock in the source because i liked the bubbling noise lol)
the latter was fine but the base was too dry for me

a 1/4 of a pale orange cheesecake. the base is almost ashen-white

"It’s #Jewish #American Heritage Month, and what better way to celebrate our heritage than #children’s #books about #food? Because everyone, no matter what, can agree that Jewish food is the best.

These books feature diverse and surprising tales about Jewish food, from Ashkenazi classics to Asian and Mexican mash-ups."

Yesterday's lunch – pork tenderloin sandwich (state sandwich of Indiana) with housemade potato chips and ranch at Shallo's in Greenwood. Great food, largest beer selection in Indiana and there is even a beer museum! https://www.shallos.com

Do you like it raw? They do in Japan - raw eggs, that is. Learn more about raw egg cuisine in Japan, why it's popular, and how the country keeps its egg supply safe and salmonella-free.

first day of break and we ordered in a big lunch from a cypriot restaurant. and it was super cheap cause of a deal to try a random restaurant on the service we hadn't tried before

fries arrived soggy but nothing a quick zap in the airfryer couldn't fix and i got half a chicken that was seasoned nicely and fall off the bone tender. nothing amazing but it was nice to have a meal that i didn't have to cook myself first

When cooking Malaysian or South Indian curries, it goes like this: ‘oh no oh no oh no oh no oh shit it’s good’ (over an hour or more)

(Flavors don’t seem to come together until a magical threshold is reached)

If you’re in Singapore, like din tai fung, but don’t like how crowded / expensive their restaurants get: here’s a hawker stall that does functionally the same food for $4ish. Will also be crowded, but it won’t be $40

(I believe the chef used to work at DTF)
