I'd like to share the Pi Pond. By firing cannonballs into a pond at random coordinates, this program calculates an approximation of Pi. https://www.ndhfilms.com/code/pipond/
The most interesting π fact I learned this year is that you can compute the k-th hexadecimal digit of π without computing any of the preceding digits. #piday
Happy pi day! This is a drawing of a sphere made of little cubelets done by my AxiDraw V3A3 pen plotter, using black and grey Pentel Energel 0.7 pens on 18gsm white card stock. Cubelets are included or excluded depending on the bits of the binary expansion of pi. #piday
#FunFact for today's #PiDay: 37 decimal places of #Pi (38, including the "3") are enough to calculate the known universe down to the diameter of a hydrogen atom.
All the additional ~62.8 trillion digits are "just theoretical" ;-)
