The aloe growing down our driveway, getting ready to push out some flowers a couple of weeks ago.
The flowers themselves are interesting, but I like the flower spikes even more - the subtle (to me) colours and shapes. Maybe someone with normal colour vision sees them as being quite bold???
I didn’t have much luck at the weekend with #botanical#photography - it was rainy and I had a lot of work to do. I want to share, nevertheless, a mobile phone photo of the big #Datura inoxia which showed up between the newly planted #vine#plants in our vineyard… It’s unlikely it came with the vine plants as those arrived without soil, and also the Senior said he has seen Daturas growing on our land in different places before, so it seems to be somewhat established here. May I remind you, that’s not the #Mediterranean, that’s the #Elbe Valley in #Saxony, Germany. (Note: reposted.)

Summer lilac (Buddleja davidii): brought from China to Europe as an ornamental plant at the end of the nineteenth century and widely cultivated in the Netherlands. It went wild in the 1940s and, especially from 1980, the species has expanded strongly along railways and in the city.
I planted some jalapeño seeds from supper the other evening! They’ve had a couple of nights in the pot but still no little sprouts. Google says I should wait about a fortnight, so fingers crossed 🤞 All four of my scallions have sprouted and are zooming upwards, I think I might have my first harvest soon! My mint plant Carrot has taken quite well to the new pot. My task today is to do some pruning I think. Finally I gave Santiago the echeveria a little haircut and repotted him. To my surprise there was no soil and he was completely rooted! He is back in a full pot and seems to be doing much better now. His younger sibling Oliver has gotten a bit fried by the sun (oops) so I gave him some TLC and moved him into the indirect sun. He is in between my basil plants and seems to be just a bit happier! Today is a bit overcast which is a welcome change from yesterday, here’s hoping I can get this done before any rain. #HomeGardening#ApartmentGardening#ConcreteGarden#HerbGarden#succulents#plants
