It really doesn’t take much of leap to get why the people who refuse to accept residential schools happened insist Israel has some sort of moral right to the land they’ve settled and colonized violently.
Jews fleeing #pogroms in Europe settled in now-Israel in the late 19th century, so it's not like there were none there in 1946, and then many in 1947. It was also the ancestral home of the Jewish people from at least 1500 BCE, so they've got at least a 3500-year-old claim to belonging there.
It seems to me that the 1947 U.N. resolution codified an ancient claim to the land, as it was clear a self-controlled land of their own was necessary, and it was the closest they had.
