Just finished new #Who Ep 1, #SpaceBabies, on #BBC. Oh dear. Twas less Timey Wimey, more samey samey. I was decidedly underwhelmed, sadly. Now, to do Ep2, or not? 🤔 🤷‍♀️

Okay, this has to be an thing. I get that some tenures of are short, but they can't bring back another old face every other Doctor.

@kinyutaka I would also assume it’s a "joke" given the publication date.

I'm not sure they realize the subtext of the joke, though, about having a female doctor briefly and a Black doctor briefly and then running back to a safe white dude.

Tom Baker may not love everything about Doctor Who, he certainly knows how to BE The Doctor.

His cane is based on his sonic screwdriver - well, one of them - during his time on the show. Love the whole get up!

I wanna wander around a nursing home looking like this muttering about my TARDIS suddenly deciding to fix it's own chameleon circuit and now I can't find it 😂

Happy birthday, Tom.

The sonic screwdriver Tom Baker used during his time on Doctor Who. Silver with a bullet-shaped thing on top which is surrounded by a red ring.

Ibrahim Imam reads lots of books about , esp. the , and reviews them on 'sBookshelf. He wrote a wonderful review of my , & named it one "the most incredibly moving patient memoirs about the brain." Turns out the review was one of the most read of 2023. Below are links to the original review, to the list of , & to 2023's most-read reviews.

@CindyWeinstein thank you, Cindy. I not only read the review (excellent!) but then I read the reviews of 3 more related books that are included in “the doctor’s shelf”. As is usual, I see just how little “experts” understand, how practical care and nurturing care can be a mystery and see a far longer span of time the progression takes. Your attention on “language” is interesting. My son’s amazing vocabulary has been a mystery. Very worthwhile reading.

Interesting that before there were cell phones or 911 (or 999) and even before everyone had telephones the British invented the police all box which is still useful for traversing time and space.

As "Doctor Who" turns 60, it's time to pose that perennial question: Who is the best Doctor of them all? The BBC asked five fans to make their arguments. But which of this quintet do you think is the greatest? Tell us in the comments if your pick isn't on the list (we're fans of Christopher Eccleston).

@timrichards Fun fact: Troughton's grandson (Harry Melling) played Dudley Dursley in the "Harry Potter" films and was also fantastic in the Coen brothers' "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs."
