#scuc24 gets rolling 💪 we are currently voting on the topics for today.
If you want to talk about #shopware5 just hit me up. But I am also open for every #shopware related topic 😁✌️
On Monday morning, the day before #FediForum starts, we'll do again a "Meet and Greet" for registered attendees.
There is no agenda, it's for people who feel like it to try out the electronic venue before the #unconference starts, make sure their equipment works and say Hi. We'll answer any questions you might have.
You will receive an e-mail with log-in instructions tomorrow, Sunday.
It's not us organizers who decide who gets to speak and when. It is you, the attendees.
During opening circle, in the first hour both days, anybody -- yes, you, too! -- can raise their hand and announce a session for that day, on virtually any subject (well, related to the topic of the unconference) that they care about. We provide enough virtual rooms, and if your subject is interesting, people will come!
#FediForum is an unconference, that means you, the attendees, decide what sessions happen, not us organizers. We make the agenda for the day collaboratively every morning.
Never come across an #unconference? Then you are in for a treat. It sounds disorganized, but it isn't, and most attendees of unconferences, us included, have learned to prefer the format over talking heads on a stage. One gets so much more done!
15 years ago today I was at the first Barcamp Liverpool.
It was a super important event for me, as it brought together a huge cross-section of the city's (and beyond) geeks to share stories and knowledge and get to know each other.
It's also where I first met some of the folk who were co-founders of @DoESLiverpool. And also where the seed for DoES itself was planted.
It's been too long (11 years!) since the last Barcamp Liverpool. One of my goals for 2024 is to run another, the #DoESCongress
I'm on the lookout for folk to help organise it - find a venue and some (more) sponsorship, choose date, etc.- and I'm hoping to get a bit more free time to devote to that in the new year, once the @museuminabox redesign is out the door 😁
The amazing Alex D-S organised a climate #unconference in London yesterday to coincide with #COP28 . It was great! We need more indie/punk/grassroots discussion and action: more like this please, everyone.
Second unconf in a month after #bclxii 🤩 Old school times, old school blog post write-up:
Canceling unKonf last year broke my heart, but the decision was necessary. I am thrilled that my @bitexpert team agreed to bring back unKonf as an in-person event. I cannot wait to see you all in Mannheim, listen to an excellent keynote, and then figure out what's on your mind to talk about ;)
We count 30 sessions, and 10 software demos over 2 intense half-days at FediForum yesterday and today.
Did you miss it? We will publish videos of the demos on fediforum.org just like we did last time, and the notes from the sessions. Most of them are quite detailed, so you get a good idea of what happened.
Join us next time? Follow @fediforum (this account).
Best quote from the closing: "I wanted to go to so many parallel sessions, and I had to make a choice, and it was really hard because all the sessions were so interesting" (paraphrased)
Thanks to all attendees, all the note takers, all the developers giving demos, and everybody who supported the event during, before and after.
The future of scalable, feature rich, and fun social media experiences on the Fediverse.
There is still time to see this and other #fediverse app demos, and join in what will likely be dozens of #unconference sessions over two half days online.

Ages ago (pre Corona) there was a 2 day #CyberSecurity#Unconference/ #OpenSpace event.
AFAIR in Dortmund or close
Anyone knows this conference and can give me hints to find it again?
This time next week, #FediForum will be in full swing. We'll already have made the agenda for the day together, seen a few software #demos, and are in the second #unconference session of the day.
Wondering what sessions are all about? As organizers we can't tell in advance ... it depends what attendees put on the agenda that very morning!! (You can put your favorite session on the agenda, too, if you are coming)
FediForum is in less than 15 days. Have you registered yet?
Expect two intense half-days of discussions and work on all aspects of the Fediverse with participants from around the world who are just as passionate about better forms of social networking, and all the other things the Fediverse enables, as you are.
Also, we'll have a few demos of interesting fediverse software you might not have seen yet.
For anyone at @BlueTeamCon who wants to understand why many forms of MFA are not phishing-resistant and why passkeys/FIDO2 are, tomorrow at 12:20pm during lunch in the #unconference room I’ll be delivering an impromptu session on #phishing resistant authentication, including a live demo of #evilginx.
