Đền Bà Chúa Thượng Ngàn
A temple to a highly revered mountain deity about an hour outside of #Hanoi. The mountain town it is found in used to be a solid three hour motorbike trip from the city, but expressways, skyrocketing car ownership, and a widened mountain road mean very easy access. The town it overlooks (Tam Đảo) has gone from sleepy retreat to buzzing party town. Strange contrasts. #Vietnam#travel#temple
#Hanoi has grown at such a rate that there are now dozens and dozens of once-free-standing villages woven into the city. Occasionally you'll find an old gate to one in a random alleyway. #Vietnam#StreetPhotography#Monochromatic#Night
The most overlooked are often the most essential. #Vietnam's cities would collapse under the strain of their own material exuberance were it not for the small army of rubbish collectors that keep things fit for use. Heroic, really. #Hanoi#StreetPhotography
That slow trudge to school. Universally recognizable, whether in some leafy American 'burb or in the sunless corridors of a #Hanoi apartment block. #Vietnam. #StreetPhotography
In Kim Liên, one of the densest and busiest neighborhoods of #Hanoi, on an unassuming corner of an intersection too frantic to allow passers-through to look up, stands the Platonic ideal of "tree," hiding in plain sight. #Vietnam#nature#trees#StreetPhotography
A true delicacy should you ever find yourself on the south central coast of #Vietnam: sauteed tuna stomach. You're most likely to find it in Tuy Hòa, as it is the center of the country's bullet tuna fishing industry. #VietnameseFood#FoodPorn#Seafood
A #Hanoi youth hangs outside of a neighborhood Tạp hóa, one that has recent hosted (or is soon to host) a wedding as evidenced by the "double happiness" characters in red affixed to the front glass. #Vietnam#StreetPhotography#Night
Weave your way through. #Hanoi sidewalks have dozens of uses, but walking tends not to be prioritized. You have to find your own way. #Vietnam. #StreetPhotography#Night
