Morning Mastodonians!

It was a good, spirited hockey game this morning, even if we only had 15 skaters, which is my least favorite number. I consider 16 skaters the bare minimum, as it means no one has to triple shift. After we went ahead 2-0, they scored 4 on me, mostly through screens but still were annoying, as they went 5-hole, which I feel like I should never give up. We got a late goal, but never tied them up. Still, a pretty good workout for the penultimate skate.

It looks like great weather again but I have some errands to run, so I am not sure I'll be able to take the for . It has become such a regular thing that they get all antsy come lunchtime, following me around and whining like I will forget. But I need to get more mulch and a few other things and I just don't have much extra time. Tonight, C & I will play but I need to get to bed early, so maybe just one room as usual.

Morning Mastodonians!

Serious Sam 4's Chapter 8, Machina Ex Deus (ha ha), is really kicking 4 Guys Co-op around. We did make it to the boss both times we played last night, but without enough extra lives to take it down. Two parts of the level are just completely insane. The first part is where waves of kleers come at you and then attack drones are added in seriously deranged numbers. Then we are locked in a field, where waves of kamikazes and gnarrs are followed by a werebulls and robots.

Not much planned for . I already took the dogs out for , as the rain is moving in. I didn't take them yesterday despite the glorious weather and I felt bad, so I wanted to make sure we made it out today. For , we'll either do the local tequila bar (a really great place to go) or try another Chinese joint. Still looking for a replacement for Fuloon, which had great scorpion bowls and transcendent Hunan dishes. Places we've tried have one or the other.

Eventually we went for the up option, but only after the lady and small child had loaded themselves and the kitchen sink into the car and driven off. "Very wise" I told her, "Very wise indeed."

    We had a pretty great today, the and I. It wasn't very long though. I've been battling a headache all day. The walk helped but I didn't have much energy. A truly classic late Autumn New England day - 42F / 5.5C, sunny and calm. They've been doing really well off leash and this time we went offroad, following the white blazed Rock Trail, up to Boojum Rock, where there is a pretty great view of . They did a great job of following the trail.

    Brilliant blue sky above some gray rocks, called Boojum Rock. I should have gone a little further and got you a nice picture of Boston. You can see Phineas, the brown & white pitbull / Lab mix standing on top, while Obi, the brindle Plott Hound is going up the side of the rocks. Brown leaves dominate, with a couple pine trees.
    My shadow looms in the foreground, while Obi and Phineas, freshly off the leash, are sniffing along side the gravel road. Brown leaves are on the ground, but there's still plenty of green too, mostly some bushes and a couple big pine trees.
    A map of our walk thru the Middlesex Fells. We went 1.81 in a little over an hour. We walked up the street, into the green area where we did a loop.

    Morning Mastodonians!

    We caught up on and while sipping our scorpion bowl. was okay, with a few funny sketches. Best was the Latino mom and aunt (Pedro Pascal and Bad Bunny) harassing the white girlfriend, the George Washington (Nate Bargatze) Dream, and Fran Drescher at Halloween. John Oliver had an impassioned opening about the Israel / Gaza disaster, was pretty funny about the new GOP speaker, and covered the screwed-up FDA & the horrible McKinsey management firm.

    Doesn't look like we'll get to do as the weather promises to be cool and rainy again. The dogs are just so full of energy! I do have to take a foster kitty to the vet this morning, but just a drop-off so she can get fixed. I'll toss out a couple of resumes, as a friend has looked into a couple of jobs at his company. It does look like my unemployment is straightened out, although I won't call it finished until the money shows up in our bank account.

    Stunning colours (the faintest hint of a rainbow 🌈) up on the Clauchlands hills this morning with my Nuis. 🐕 Can't really decide if my favourite time of year is autumn, winter or spring, but it isn't summer, that's for sure. This summer has been pish anyway, and I missed the heatwave while I was catching dysentery in rainy Switzerland. I'm loving the turning of the seasons. Can really feel it now!
