I really need to learn how to weld. However, if I did weld, I'd be that strange guy with all kinds of random metal object sculptures in the front yard. 🤪 Really, just need to find some second hand equipment (based entirely on YouTube videos, not much different than soldering... except on a much larger scale)

@ai6yr Isn't this just a thermal image showing that planted areas are cooler? The large blue areas appear to be parks and wooded areas, at least when compared to Google maps satellite image... maybe i'm reading it wrong.

    @isotopp @fraustaenki Holy shit. Hab gerade mal meinen Verbrauch hier in USA nachgeschaut. 21000kWh ueber 12 monate. Aehnliche elektronik am Platz wie bei @isotopp, auch 1 EV am Laden. Aber auch 2x Klimaanlage bei Suedstaaten-Temperaturen, und Holzbauweise... much room for improvement here.

    @ai6yr In light of recent increase in "eXtReMe WeaThEr" i have also gone back to ham after taking a bit of a break. Even got a new rig coming in tomorrow (705) that allows some degree of flexibility. Next: Getting into ARES processes / procedures in my area...

    @ai6yr Yep exact what happened right here on July 22 (i think). Severe thunderstorm with what we think was a wide tornado wreaking havoc all around. Nothing worked anymore, no net, no power. Nothing - except the local repeaters. And those proved extremely useful.

    @ai6yr There's a manual opening lever at a very prominent spot in the front doors - so much so that the manual explicitly states to use that only in emergencies because it doesn't roll down the window below the trim before opening. But for some outlets it's more important to be sensationalist i guess. There are so many problematic things with Teslas but this isn't one.
