@WTL@recollir I think I have only myslef to blame: 10k = 6.21317 miles, and I stopped the watch at 6.20, and thatโs what my watch recorded, but #Strava reported 6.21 (?), and neither recognized itโs a 10K runโฆ
More bizarre to me is how Strava interprets the elevation gain: see below from my recent #halfMarathon PR run. The route is pretty flat, so my #AppleWatch is definitely the correct one. Funny thing is this doesn't happen every time. Any idea?
@WTL@recollir Right after posting this, I noticed after tapping the three dot icon on the upper right in #Strava, I got this option โadjust elevationโ. This appeared to fix the problem, although the result still doesnโt match #Applewatchโs.
We used the tracks through the #windfarm near #Eyemouth to get around. What started as a bright morning had moments of threat in the sky, although we didn't get wet.
My dear #running / #trailrunning friends: I need to ask for advise on picking #shoes for #marathon runs on paved roads and mildly unpaved trails (photo 1):
ASICS Trabuco Max 2 (photo 2): the middle in weight (~290g), not waterproof. Bouncy w/ rocker design.
Salomon Speedcross 5 (photo 3): the heaviest (~295g), waterproof(?). Big lugs.
Between the remaining two: I like NIKE because they have guards on the heels to stop pebbles from coming into the shoes, and they are waterproof (allegedly). ASICS has nice bouncy feeling and Iโm quite used to their shoes.
@jbigham Iโm th opposite. I tried earlier HOKA Speedgoat and they are too narrow for me. For waterproofing, Iโd prefer not to run in soggy โboatsโ if I can โ yes, personal preference, and a necessity in #pacificNorthWest :-)
I will not lie, I'm done with winter. But winter is not done.
I usually embrace outdoor conditions, but today was a treadmill day. My first, and hopefully, my last of the year. This is not my cup of tea!!
Pheeew. Made it on Sunday with a last run from Galashiels, up to Maigle Hill, Torwodlee Broch and return. The Broch is one of three in the Borders and is overlooked by one at last weekends run.
A gorgeous day and a stiff run 480 metres of climbing and steep with it. Slowest run of the month. 2 hrs 5 mins.
A fundraiser with two colleagues (one cycling, one swimming) for the Borders Food Banks.
Iโve done it: my first-ever #Marathon! Temperature was 22F/-5.6C in lovely #PacificNorthWest, time was 4:34:01 (excluding time for picture taking), and pace was 10'26".
This was my 4th attempt to extend my range beyond half Marathon (13.1 miles), starting from 16 miles, then 20, 23, and finally today's 26.24.
